A clever point wasn't something Teddy was willing to argue this early in the morning. It was true, she wouldn't have to stress quite so much if she could remove a destination from her morning. Never did she plan to find herself in this position again, which basically cemented the fact that she was definitely going to bring at least something with her next time she stopped by to visit.
Five minutes was up all too quickly as the second alarm rang out. But the way Natalie refused to pull away - let alone even look - to try and turn it off was proof she had no intention of helping this morning. Fingers tracked the length of her arm then, following the contours to reach for the device herself. She even tried to pull back, severing the cherished connection to turn her head to actually look in the right direction.

She was well aware of the little time they had left before Teddy inevitably had to leave. Tearing her gaze away would only cement the idea, but turning off an alarm without aid of a set of eyes wasn't quite so easy. Aid from a second hand found its way, and despite the fact that she didn't want to lose the lawyer's gaze, the moment she turned her neck, Natalie instinctively pressed her lips against it.
Slow, burning kisses to her pulse spoke everything of how she selfishly wanted the lawyer to stay, even if she was making an attempt to help her leave. A poor one, but an attempt nonetheless.

Reaching for the unfamiliar device was a slow process for Teddy. As much as she didn't like to leave, she had to make some move to do so. But she didn't have to do it quickly; nothing else would be able to express how much she didn't want to have to at all.
And then she was caught by the physical. Lips against her neck left a delicate, clever trail across her skin. Teddy dropped her phone then and there, inhaling sharply to stop any other sounds hitting the air between them. She purposefully lingered in the spot between them for a few more seconds before she forced herself away. But the lawyer didn't leave the bed. Instead, she let her shoulders hit the mattress again.

A quick distraction was potentially dangerous, and it certainly turned out to be. The alarm never stopped, and the trainer didn't need her eyes to realize that the device was dropped, though her attention was thoroughly grabbed at the way she breathed in response. It only served as encouragement. Natalie thought to offer a little more pressure, but suddenly her counterpart was gone. Dark eyes snapped open to try and find her, only to realize that she hadn't gone far.
She had to laugh. At least a little. "Come on," she tried, though weakly, as she stretched over the lawyer, taking hold of the phone herself and quickly shutting off the increasingly annoying sound. Once it was silenced, she looked down at Teddy, hovering over to her. "If you stay much longer I don't know if I'll be able to stand you leaving."

Submitting finally was a kind of weakness Teddy wasn't usually known for. She could have just as easily pushed herself up and left the bed, but the phone had left her hands and left her mind despite its irritating repetitive sound. Natalie at least rescues them from that. She watched a body lean over her own and listened to the right words she used.
Then she let her fingertips inevitably track the length of her back. "So I should get up." She denoted finally, raising her eyebrows to the thought. It betrayed the way she had been moving all morning.
"When will I see you again?"

She almost regretted those words entirely, but pieces of the conversation from the night prior lingered in the back of her mind. Of course she hadn't wanted to leave, but she didn't want to be the cause of why Teddy didn't make it into work. The importance of her job was paramount. But she made it so hard.
Her spine curved inwards towards the lawyer as fingertips traced the length of her back, drawing a slow breath out of Natalie. She couldn't even think of a clever way to answer the former question.
"Tonight, if you'd like." She breathed instead, "Anytime. Soon."

Someone had to maintain a kind of strength, and evidently that was going to be Natalie. Teddy looked up to her, watching for any small waver with the way she herself moved first. She could feel the slightly added pressure to the way her body addressed the hand against her. It all added up, and none of it made it any easier.
The idea of seeing her tonight felt perfect. Sometime soon was a kind of grace she had to be happy for. It was amazing to be wanted in any way, let alone like this. Her mouth dragged to a lighter smile, the threat of humour catching her eyes as her hand continued to move back and forth across her skin.
"Are you asking me out?" Teddy asked her then, her voice dropped to something of a whisper.

Controlled breath often lead to clarity, but something as simple as a touch from the lawyer had it wavering. A smile on her lips caught Natalie's eyes as they dropped a little. Every little offering was taken in. Appreciated. She still couldn't entirely wrap her mind around having Teddy's attention so completely.
The curve of her own mouth grew upward as she leaned further down against the form beneath her, close enough where her nose brushed against Teddy's lightly. "You caught me," Natalie confessed with a matched whisper. "Assuming we could make it out the door this time."

For every move made, progress still escaped them. Teddy could only hope agreeing on another time to meet would help the whole situation. Something to look forward to might make it a little easier.
There was barely any distance between them now. Close enough that she could kiss her if she wanted to. She offered a small laugh at the addition, quiet in the small space between them like she really needed to keep her voice down.
"Well, then I definitely shouldn't come back here after work." Teddy pointed out. That formula hadn't worked out well for them last time.

Making plans was a helpful distraction. It made it seem like it wasn't so unreasonable for her to leave for work, even if Natalie knew she would miss her counterpart in their hours apart. At least this gave her something to look forward to. Weight shifted onto one arm, the other coming up to brush disheveled dark hair away from Teddy's face. Or maybe she just wanted to keep touching her.
"We could meet somewhere." It was probably the best way to guarantee they'd actually make it to a given place. "You did say you knew of a couple good places."

An agreement was made with ease; at least they could both agree that sticking to their track record wasn't the most promising idea. Teddy's hand dragged up to the back of her neck finally, but she hadn't made a proper move to pull her in completely.
"I'll call you later today and we'll figure it out." She offered then. Any attempt to properly think beyond this moment was more work than it was worth.
"But I can't do much when we're like this." She added. A body pressed against her own made a compelling argument for why she should stay. More to the point was the dangerous way she finally pulled her in to kiss her.

An agreement came between them. Plans were made. Natalie offered a little nod in the remaining space between them, a humored breath escaping her lips at the predicament they had come into. She was sure it was a request to move, but before she could peel herself away, a clever hand pressed to the back of her neck, and she was all too willing to comply.
Her hand lost the pressure to hold her up, body pressing entirely against the lawyer as her palm squeezed between the sheets and her back in an attempt to somehow pull her closer.

A hand to her back forced the curve of her spine to fully arch to leave nothing between herself and the body against her. Now that she had her for at least a little while longer, she let her hand filter up into her hair, curling into familiar locks.
At some point, someone would have to give. Teddy was grateful that the option wasn't currently hers to take, because she had no intention of physically pushing her away.

A familiar body against her own made every plan to let Teddy leave her bed and home completely vanish. Her elevated heart rate banged through logic when she was kissed like that.
So when her lungs screamed for oxygen, she only dared for half a breath. "Teddy." Though she herself didn't know how she tried to stress her name; there was too much of a conflict. Rather than offering anything else, she caught her lips again.

Willpower was already so weak that the sound of her own name ripped through her like she was breathlessly being asked to stay. It didn't offer her the right opportunity to breathe, just a sharp inhale before she was kissed again and all other, clever thoughts and arguments melted away.
"I'm sorry." She declared then, in the breaks. On some level, she really genuinely meant it too. "You don't make this easy."
