Breathing was already a struggle; it forced more breaks between them, but each new kiss carried fire. And when an apology came forth, the trainer almost wanted to laugh, if only because she wasn't sure just what it was for.
"You are irresistible." She breathed against the lawyer's lips. "How am I supposed to let you go?"
Those were heavy words from the trainer in that moment. Irresistible was a big call to make for anyone, but Teddy understood where she was coming from. She was like an obsession in many ways without logic.
Teddy filtered that hand out of her hair finally, tracking down her neck and across her shoulder to press against her chest. There, she couldn't help but linger. Somewhere in the back of her mind she hoped it was clear how much she didn't want this.
"Don't get up." She said lightly, before finally applying pressure to ease her back.
There were many words that could be used to describe Teddy, but irresistible seemed the most appropriate in a moment like this. Everything about the lawyer was calling to her; she could feel the way she wanted to stay, and that just made it all the more harder. But as a familiar hand tracked across her shoulder and down to her chest, she knew she'd have to move. There was comfort in knowing that it wasn't what the lawyer wanted, though.
A small hum passed her lips when gentle pressure eased her back and she let herself fall on the mattress.
Natural resistance was one thing, but Teddy knew she wasn't going to fight her on this. She was far too nice, and that was a little trait she had come to admire of her. She finally fell to the mattress and with it, the lawyer was finally free. She didn't seem all that happy about it, though.
Her hand drew away, and it was reaching for the sheets next. Hauling them away, she forced herself up, sitting at the edge of the bed for a spare set of seconds. It was almost peaceful not to be able to catch her eyes, except that she was sure they were on her. Without a word Teddy finally stood, reaching for her discarded clothes without a glance back.
Though she couldn't catch her eyes, Natalie kept her gaze on the lawyer. Already, she missed the warmth of a form she now found familiar. Dragging the blankets up to her shoulders, she leaned back against the pillows, letting silence fall between them. Maybe it was easier that way. And as she started to gather her things, the trainer felt the mental stirring of the other beings in her home. How two canines were now at the door to the bedroom, waiting to greet and find their way into the bed they couldn't sleep on that night.
It was enough to make Natalie move, though only enough to reach over the edge of the bed to secure a couple of discarded articles to slip on herself.
For Teddy, the silence wasn't uncomfortable. Rather, she found simplicity in having nothing left to say. It was easier to throw on each article piece by piece when she wasn't trying to engage with her again. By the time she was shrugging on her dress, she was moving again.
Turning back to look, Teddy found her looking for her own clothes. "I can get you something new to wear." She offered finally, blindly reaching for the long zip at the back of her own dress.
Caught trying to make herself decent, Natalie's gaze turned back to the lawyer when she spoke. She'd already managed to get hold of her t-shirt, but anything else was too far from the comforts of her bed. She dragged the shirt on over her head before hauling the sheets off herself and rising to her knees.
"Thank you," she replied, inching towards the edge of the bed. "Here, let me." She had yet to ever help the lawyer put on an article, having much more experience with the opposite act, but her fingers clasped the zipper, slowly drawing it up.
Now that she was looking, taking her eyes away felt difficult. Even if Teddy couldn't catch her eyes, she couldn't help the way she stared at the weak attempt at overing herself. She couldn't reach anything else. Her offer was partly for her own peace of mind. When she started moving, she thought it was to retrieve the rest of her clothes.
Instead, she actually stayed on the bed, complicit with the request Teddy honestly expected her to break right away. Had the roles been reversed, she couldn't see herself staying still.
Simple steps dragged her closer again, and with no real resistance Teddy turned her back to Natalie, letting her draw the zip of her dress back up on her own terms. "What will you do today?" She asked, needing to fill the silence somehow. Anything to ignore the hands daring to reach for her again.
With the zip of her dress securely between her shoulderblades, Natalie still lingered. Drawn to her, it was never easy to actually let go once she touched her. "I have two students training today, so I'll be heading into the school later today." At least she didn't have the day off. Knowing they both had to work made it a little easier, or she hoped it did.
Her head ducked down, pressing her lips lightly to the exposed skin between the line of her dress and her neck. When she eased herself away, her hands were slow to traverse down the length of her form before dropping off entirely.
Casual conversation was a strong attempt to provide a better distraction than the body behind her own. It was good that she couldn't see her, but Teddy found the lack of visible connection almost irritating. That was an odd feeling to carry.
A small kiss against her skin felt like a signature. With the zip drawn all the way up, there was nothing else she needed help with, and so she was destined to have to pull away. She exhaled a slow breath at the little mark, shoulders squared instantly. Her own hands dragged down the fabric of her dress once, like she could somehow perfect it - or stabilise herself - before she looked back at her.
When she turned, Teddy caught sight of her again. She really was a breathless wonder despite the fact that she must have felt exhausted. Hands pressed to either side of her face as she drew herself in again to kiss her slowly.
"Have a good day." Teddy offered, the words brushing against her lips before she kissed her once more.
Natalie was sure that with her counterpart fully dressed, she would find the strength to get up. But when Teddy turned, she found herself breathless. Even just a look was a dangerous game when all she wanted was to pull her back under the covers. She exhaled desire when hands found her face, unable to take another breath when she was kissed so sweetly. Her eyes drew shut, hands easily finding their way back to the lawyer as they settled on either side of her.
When Teddy spoke it sounded like it was almost a goodbye, but the second kiss she received contrasted those thoughts. "And you too," she managed softly, reverting back to a hushed tone. Her forehead pressed against the lawyer's, lingering in the space before offering another gentle kiss. "I'll miss you."
Every ounce of a goodbye worked it's way into the particular words Teddy offered. She gave the sentiment without having to use the heavy words. Another kiss hit her lips and it was so sweet to share; just as sweet as the sentiment she shared with the lawyer. She would miss her with only a day apart.
"I'll call you later." It felt like a promise, like it would somehow make it easier for both of them. At some point in her busy day, she would make time for a spare set of minutes, and hope they could align up.
They were slowly approaching a departure from one another, but every moment was stretched out as long as possible, and Natalie had to be thankful for that.
"I'll be looking forward to it." She smiled, but her hands didn't move. Not yet. If she could manage to at all. She scored herself to the edge of the bed and beside the lawyer. "Does your day look like it'll be as busy as yesterday?"
Despite Natalie's natural lack of understanding for Teddy's line of work, she still opted to talk about it anyway. It was endearing how she cared enough to question the time Teddy might have taken in a day; that, or it was selfish. She wasn't complaining either way.
Hands filtered down to the back of her neck idly, keeping her close. Distance clearly wasn't lost on her.
"You never know." She replied honestly. She'd never wished for predictable hours more than she did in that moment. "I could be on a plane by tomorrow night." It wasn't as if it hadn't happened before.
Hands on her neck settled like they could truly settle for the day, despite the conversation they shared. There was comfort in the closeness between them, and her fingers traced along the length of her thigh lightly, daring to only skate across the fabric barrier she now wore.
"Your career sounds adventurous," Natalie replied with a small smile. She couldn't be upset over the idea of Teddy having to leave at last minute notice at times due to her work, even if she wished to remain at her side.
