The plan to leave seemed to dissipate from her mind now that her hands were on her again. Teddy drew a slow breath in at the familiar fingertips that tracked across her skin lightly. It was a constant reminder of the difference in their positions. Getting away was still so improbable.
"Sure. If you think sitting in a room for most of the day adventurous." A room with combating lawyers, no less. It was a particular kind of daily argument. "Other than that, it's mostly sitting in hotel rooms waiting for the phone to ring." The unfortunate truth about the nature of her work at times must have sounded so boring.

What had been a rush to get out of bed and out the door had taken a slower turn; physicality might have kept them close but a conversation kept her there.
She had no experience with a lawyer's world, and really no idea what to expect her day to day life was like outside of a generic image painted in her mind. But she was able to travel, and even if Teddy insured her it wasn't as exciting as it sounded, she was curious what it must have been like to really experience it.
"But you love it." She denoted in the end, offering a nod at the idea. That was what mattered. "And it's pretty clear you're good at it."

It was comforting to listen to Natalie speak of her own profession in such a way. Teddy could only hope she kept her idea true when the reality of the unfairness effected her personally.
"I am good at it." She replied with ease. Of all the things Teddy knew about herself, she was sure she was an excellent lawyer. Good was an understatement, but she didn't want to correct her just yet.
Fingernails lightly tracked their way into her hair as she pointedly kept herself close. "And, I do love it." She added then, dropping her voice a little lower at the thought. After all, they were heavy words, but a better understanding made the weight of it easier to share.

Teddy's passion for her job was evident. It worked its way into her blood and fueled her like oxygen. Yet here she was. Staying. And nails running into her hair dragged a wavering exhale from the trainer, her eyes drawing closed as she leaned into the contact. Her own curled around perfectly pressed fabric, squeezing it up into her palms.
"It's beautiful that you do," Natalie offered finally, truly meaning those words. Today, she had seen so many people upset with their line of work. Like it was more of a chore than actually something they wanted to do every day.
Her eyes opened again slowly. "Then I shouldn't keep you from it." Slowly, she tried to steer them back on track, but it came with a light, lingering kiss that followed.

Beautiful wasn't exactly the word Teddy would have chosen for her line of work, but the fact that she believed that meant so much. It was nice to have anyone think so highly of her, but it was so much better when it was from someone she actually liked.
And someone who was willing to put her back on track when she seemed to be wavering. Getting caught up in the drawn out way she was kissed was so easy. Letting go was a chore.
"Okay." Teddy declared finally, like she was only really now accepting that she had to leave. Still, she was slow to ease her hands back, fingertips tracking across the line of her jaw at either side before she let her hands fall away.
Instantly, they made their way into her own hair instead, drawing it all up to tie it back. "I'll let your friends in." She didn't need a special ability to know what was waiting for her on the other side of that door.

It was painful to have to let go, but when familiar hands tracked out of her hair, her own let go of the material she was gripping onto, otherwise she might not have let go if she waited any longer. Instead, she forced herself to her feet, making her way to the closet. Distance seemed like the only way to really make sure her counterpart made it into the office on time, or even at all.
Not bothering with much else, she stepped into a pair of sweatpants, turning her gaze towards the lawyer. "They're going to miss you too." She pointed out, though with a little humor in her tone, in part because she knew if they had it their way, the whole lot would be sharing the same bed as herself and the lawyer rather than being separated by a door.

A thought to protest boiled at the brink for Teddy when she watched her get up. Truth be told, Natalie hadn't really told her she wouldn't. The downside was that her eyes filtered to the body she'd shared a bed with that night, wandering with ease in the spare time she had when she wasn't underneath the trainer's gaze.
"You'll have to apologise to them for me for occupying your bed." She pointed out, the corner of her mouth dragging upwards at the thought. She felt a little bad about it, but it would never outweigh the selfish way she'd stolen all that space.
It was almost daunting to catch her eyes then, given the fact that she had every intention of walking out that door and not looking back. She had to smile at her, and it felt uncontrolled considering how much poise she usually kept in her features. She only deserved the very best and most genuine.

Slow, careful steps brought her back towards the bed. Towards her. The smile Teddy wore brought one to her own features, and as she drew close, her hands went into her pockets. It was the best way to keep her from reaching out again, because she absolutely wanted to. "Already forgiven." She knew well enough that they wouldn't hold it against the lawyer, and so she spoke easily for them.
Easing herself onto the mattress, she pulled the covers over herself, like it would somehow help despite the way she wanted to invite Teddy to join her.

There was a strange kind of ease when it felt like Natalie was breaching the distance between them. In the end, she was far stronger than Teddy thought she could have been, because she moved back towards her bed instead. The air she held in her lungs was released on a verbal exhale, like a sigh of relief or disappointment.
Drawing back without a word, she reached for the door finally. When she pulled it open, she left her free hand low to brush against the waiting company as she walked out the door. Once out of he bedroom, he lawyer was fast to piece the rest of her outfit together before she was moving to leave completely.
