Callie hoped that her plans to leave would give some kind of greater insight to how her company was received. A little part of her was grateful that Chandler seemed invested in her company, however short it was destined to be. She could have just as easily not cared, after all.
She was almost impossible to read now. She didn't make it obvious like Callie felt she always had. She still couldn't pull her eyes away, caught blatantly staring at the face she never thought she'd see again. That was a hard idea to just let go of, and it was so much easier when she wasn't being looked at.
"I'd say we have some stuff to talk about, yeah." She replied then. She didn't mean to make it sound so weighted and obvious, but under the watchful eyes of a set of younger teenagers didn't seem like the right time to announce the inevitable downfall of her relationship. "Only if you want to, obviously."

Chandler's shoulders slumped, releasing tension she didn't know she'd had. Was there really anything left to talk about? Callie had made her choice back then and that had been that. Green eyes lifted, lips pursing. "Do we?" she asked. She was genuinely curious. Chandler couldn't think of anything the two of them had to discuss. Not if it was related to the past, anyway. The future on the onder hand... Well, she hadn't even began thinking about that yet.
Pulling herself out of the chair, Chandler stretched her arms above her head. She supposed talking didn't hurt. There was little to lose in this situation. Wasn't there? "But alright," she agreed finally. She straightened herself, looking up at the much taller blonde. "I guess I'd be alright with that."

Curiosity seemed to play at her features like she couldn't control them. Callie couldn't stop the way the small smile played about her own face. She'd offered the importance of having a decent conversation - one that wasn't about trivial things - so there must have been a reason? Could she figure that out? Did she even care? It was hard to hold onto what she already was; it would have been so easy to just say it now, but because she didn't know what kind of response she'd get, it didn't feel safe.
She watched the way she stood, a small frown pulling at her lips instinctively. Standing up meant she had every intention of leaving, which wasn't the point of Callie blatantly crashing her attempt to stealth the whole environment. It also made it difficult to not reach out to her. Callie had always been physical by nature. She squeezed her hands together behind her back for good measure. "You don't have to go, if you don't want to." She pointed out then. Now that she was in her line of sight, losing that felt like a danger.

Chandler saw the way the blinde's words changed to the words offered. How she seemed pleased at first, then almost disappointed. It tugged at her, in ways that she'd almost forgotten. Yet it seemed like only yesterday. The pull and tug that seemed almost a part of her.
Chandler shook her head. "I've got other stuff I need to do." Like moving into her dorm room. Unpack. Figure out where her classrooms were. She'd started in the middle of the year. There was much for her to read up on. "Besides, she added, "They-", she gestured towards the students. "-seem eager to grt their teacher back." She smiled then. "Most students don't like class being longer than expected."

The rejected offer wasn't the worst thing in the world. Callie knew she could at least take something from it; this was something she felt she needed to do. Even if she didn't mean to offer it that way, that was exactly how she took it.
She glanced back when her class was mentioned again, looking over the familiar faces that were clearly waiting for her. She could only hope she wouldn't be bombarded with questions the moment she stood on that stage again.
"Okay, sure. Cause you said so." Callie replied then, unable to stop the smile she wore. It was nice. Friendly. Somehow, it was old and new at the same time. "Clearly, you know where to find me, so..." She trailed off as she took her first step backwards. She'd already managed to find her once.

Pursing her lips in light amusement, Chandler nodded. "Yeah," she agreed. She did know where to find her. She supposed some part of her always would. She didn't know how soon she'd seek her out again; There was a lot of things to consider and Chandler herself wasn't sure where she stood, or how she felt.
Just because it felt easier now, that didn't mean it would feel the same when the two got the chance to actually talk. Part of her dreaded that. Part of her thought that it was unnecessarily. Better leave the past alone. Still, the brunette lifted her hand, wiggling her fingers as she too, took a step away.
"See you around, Cal," she Brit announced before turning.
