"Ahh." Teddy dragged the little sound out, like she'd cracked the code to the mismatched surname offered. The simplicity of such a conversation was so welcome. She could laugh however quietly in present company because feeling uninhibited was so rare, but so good.
"Oh no, you couldn't possibly be a Smith." She replied, like she'd known her for more than an hour, "Someone like you? Everything about your name is you." Just as Teddy wore such weight in her own choice of a name.
Ignoring the inch of space between them became a chore, and so for good reason, she had to kiss her again. It was the only excuse for a break in conversation that she'd willingly accept. "Distinctive. An anomaly among Smiths." Another break in time to steal a short kiss before driving her point home; "It's beautiful."

Teddy offered compliments with such ease, but they hit the trainer with full force. She sucked in a harsh breath, because although she had only met her earlier that night, she spoke like she knew her. And it was absolutely believable. The kisses between her compliments made a moment all the more overwhelming, and in their shortness she found herself struggling to keep any distance between them. She leaned into any and all contact, catching her lips again with the last statement.
"You are amazing." Though she risked sounding like she was offering a compliment only because she received one, it was worth it. "I want to see you again." Because although they had the night and morning again, she wanted to make it known. And again, she breached the distance between them.

Small points of contact packed a mighty punch, clocking the rhythm of Teddy's heart to an uncontrollable rate. It was impossible to forget that she was carrying a lengthy conversation with the second woman she'd ever shared this bed with. The first of which was her Stagfort best friend who adopted bed sharing into their strictly platonic nature.
Amazing was an incredible word to use to describe someone, like she had no faults in the eyes of this individual despite the fact that she'd given a very clear one on the car ride here. Securing more than a night together adhered to everything she wantedin that moment, and the kiss provided sealed approval.
"I'd love to." Teddy managed a reply on a weaker breath.

Every kiss added heightened emotion to the moments they shared. She wanted to see her again, and she would love to. An agreement many hours before they would inevitably have to part ways. It was a thought to hold onto.
But for then, Natalie chose to hold onto her. The drumming of her heart banged in her ears, making it hard to concentrate on anything other than the woman responsible for its heightened state.
So she kissed her again, and with it came the crack of her willpower, making it impossible to pull away so quickly.

Talking gave way to the physical, and the thought to split the two again felt momentarily wrong. Smaller kisses gave way to those drawn out by magnetism; feeling wanted was just so good. They both wanted to get together again, like nothing could ruin whatever this was.
Drifting a hand underneath the sheet, Teddy tracked down the length of her form, fingers wrapped around her hip. Gentle pressure wanted to ease her back again without force.

It took no strength to get her to move. She barely felt the pressure before she was shifting onto her back, hands pressing with a matched lightness against her back to keep any real distance from being created.
They stayed there, slowly finding a force that the usually passive trainer didn't display. She couldn't not hold on.
And the sounds that escaped her throat took shape in the form of a word. A name. She had just been told she could refer to her as either, and her decision stood as she let the shortened version leave her lips.

Composure was weak at the sound of her own name in a space like this. The idea of it traveled back to the short conversation they'd only just had. Teddy found her oddly overwhelmingly intoxicating; she really was special, and that was a strange occurrence to realise within the first few hours of meeting someone.
Small nuances reminded her that this was still an entirely new landscape for her. Or perhaps it really was a significant difference between the lawyer and the kind of attention she was used to. Her own curiosity was very much in tact, but she wouldn't dare ask about it now, let alone here.
Leaning down, she tilted her head a fraction and pressed her lips against the curve of her neck instead, lingering in the light connection. She considered stealing her lips again but knew the likelihood of the struggles of her breathing would take time to subside.

A set of wonderful lips pressing to her neck made Natalie wonder if she could feel her rapid pulse through the connection. It was clever not to catch the trainer's lips; they were parted with a desperate attempt to catch her breath.
Eyes remained tightly shut, because she feared that if she caught a glimpse of the lawyer, it might be too overwhelming. So much of her was already, in the best of ways.
"Teddy." She breathed again, hands filtering up to tangle in dark locks.

A small point at her neck provided a little insight to the rhythm beating in her chest. It felt personal to know such a thing that would otherwise be kept so hidden. It was nice to give affection without having to worry.
Hands in her hair felt like they might hold on for dear life at any given reason. She eased herself up then, hair held back from falling in the space between them, and precise eyes glanced down at her with clear sight.
"Yes, Natalie?" Teddy asked, lips curling into a small smile at the preferred name.

Distance created forced Natalie's eyes open, despite how heavy they were starting to feel. Unlike her counterpart, it took far too long for them to adapt to the darkness. She couldn't make out any definitive details, but she at least tried, and her hands kept tangled in her hair. A smile took to the curve of her own lips at the sound of her name. It was starting to grow familiar wrapped in her accent.
Breath still staggered, she didn't care as she caught her lips again. Gentle pressure had to remain short, given the strain on her lungs, but it was well worth the connection. "Tell me more. About you." It was such a broad request that the trainer thought she might have to narrow it down, but there was genuine interest in learning more about the lawyer. "What was it like growing up as Theodora Eden James?"

A small kiss against her lips did everything to keep Teddy smiling. She deserved to feel such happiness, however short it the connection was. Anything was better than nothing.
That question was such a broad one. It was the kind she often asked to learn the first and foremost thing in someone's mind about themselves. Being on the opposite end of it was certainly interesting. The narrowed detail helped somewhat; Teddy propped herself up on her elbow, legs cleverly still tangled to keep her close.
"I'm afraid it's not very interesting." She said instead. She could tell her about a privledged upbringing, but she didn't think that'd give her reason to want to stay, "Unless you'd really like to hear about all the times my parents threatened to sue over a misspelled birthday cake."

Really, Natalie knew it was a steep request. She herself would likely falter at such a broad question, but the curiosity remained. A small, humored exhale escaped her at the idea of literally suing over a misspelled birthday cake. Given their prior subject on names, it was practically a perfect connection. The story peaked her interest, but it brought another question to the forefront of her mind. There was so much she wanted to know about the woman she met earlier that evening.
"Were your parents lawyers, too?" She segued into, given the subject landed on them and a threat to sue.

The whole topic briefly made her wonder if she would follow suit with her own children. It was an odd kind of passion, but it was all Teddy had ever known. She should have known the question would come up; she allowed for that given her own answer.
"Just the one." She replied easily; almost a little thankfully, "In my experience, one was enough." She couldn't imagine double that kind of power and potent aggression.
Fingertips barely threatened her counterpart's skin, skimming across the top of her chest slowly as she spoke again; "But I always knew I wanted to be a lawyer, And I worked like crazy to earn what I wanted." In Teddy's mind, there was no other option on the table.

There was no doubt in Natalie's mind that her counterpart worked for everything she did. That much seemed so obvious in her demeanor and how she spoke of her work.
Fingertips against her skin - light as they were - made it impossibly hard to think. She was a distraction. A slow breath escaped her, still wavering in nature even if it wasn't as heavy as it was a minute before. Still, she wanted to talk. To learn about this woman. "I can tell. You're so passionate about it."
She thought another moment, eyes drawing shut as her back curved up against the bed. Just a little. "Does that mean you don't have interest in meeting someone in your field?" She had to ask, and when her eyes opened again she did her best to try and gauge a reaction, even in the lack of light. "Because one is enough?"

Teddy wasn't willing to ignore the person with her in any way. She couldn't have her so close and not reach out at any opportune moment.
The question offered a thought that hit home, and she wondered if that was remotely obvious in those first seconds after it hit the air. Now wasn't the time to speak on the woes she'd suffered dating another lawyer.
"That all depends on the person. It can be a very... Ego-driven field. Sounds... Tempestuous, don't you think?" She asked, knowing there was a very clear positive side to trying to be with someone who had a first-hand understanding of the workload she chose to take.
