There was a pause after her question that Natalie wasn't expecting. Though she found no issue with the silence that could fall between them, Natalie wondered what was running through mind in those few seconds.
A gentle laugh escaped her lips at the descriptor of lawyers. It fell into a stereotype that apparently at least a little true. The corner of her mouth twitched up into a wider curve as she pressed a kiss to the corner of her mouth.
"I suppose it's all about finding the right fit." Whether that was in the same field or not didn't necessarily matter, as long as there was understanding.

The more she thought about it, the more Teddy could understand the ease of not dating a lawyer if they could respect her commitment to the work she did. But that within itself was a great challenge; perhaps a greater one. It wasn't worth considering for long, distracting as this person proved to be.
"You're absolutely right." She was smart. It was another thing to appreciate about her. But she didn't want to leave it where it was, no matter how perfect it sounded. "I think looking for anything specific is impossible."
As she considered the thought, her fingertips tracked down the length of her form thoughtfully. "You can set out parameters for what you think you need and get it all wrong." Teddy added finally. Despite barely knowing her, she was easy to talk to.

It was so easy to become distracted by the form on top of her. Fingertips against her skin Sid well to insure that her heart rate would never settle. It was a conflict; to talk and learn more about this fascinating woman, or to succumb to the physicality of the way her hands moved.
She let her own detangle from dark locks, keeping them from falling into Teddy's face as she secured them with the other. It gave for the chance to keep touching her. To let short nails graze across her shoulder and back.
"You're bound for failure if you go in with defined expectations on everything you want." Natalie agreed with a hum.
She tilted her head upward, pressing her lips to the base of the lawyer's neck, lingering in the connection.

Nails tracked light lines across her skin, working in tandem with the softer movement of her own hand to develop a kind of call and response. The reciprocation reminded her of the positivity that coincided with this fresh company. Things could have gone either way at any point, but they hadn't, and every move like that reminded her of that goodness.
Wise words fell from the lips that then made a point of pressing themselves against her neck. She could feel the way she breathed branding her skin in the seconds of silence as she tried to develop an adequate reply.
"Completely knowing what you need is impossible." Wants were a different thing entirely, like the dream of a younger generation. Now, it all felt about building something bigger and better for herself; "There's power in not completely knowing what's right for you, no matter who you are."

A breath burned against her skin, and as her lips pressed against the line of her neck, Natalie was sure she could feel some sort of jump in pulse. Whether that was Teddy's or her own, she wasn't sure, but it was enough for her to plant a second kiss to her skin - and then a third. Each lingering with the devote attention she deserved.
A small hum passed her lips in agreement. There was a lack of control in life that people didn't always understand or accept. It was something that the trainer grew to accept a while ago, but to hear it spoken by someone else was refreshing. Especially someone in a career field that stereotypically relied on control. There was something to be said to how she let that view fall into her personal life.
She gently pressed her hand to the lawyer's shoulder, offering minimal force in more or a request than a demand to ease her back against the bed. "It gives you the opportunity to learn that you might want something you never expected to."

Just as they spoke about power - as Teddy introduced it into play here - she felt pressure against her shoulder again. It was almost funny how the two ideas worked in tandem; she let out a small breath of a laugh as she allowed her back to hit familiar sheets again. Denying her was unwanted, and at this point, practically impossible for all the right reasons.
She seemed so smart. So clued in despite how new she was to any kind of experience with women. The clever words that left her mouth were just as attractive as the way she moved.
"Well, we all like to think we know." A series of failed relationships was a great track record for just how wrong she'd been. "It's hard to admit that I don't."

She moved so willingly, and as a laugh escaped her lips, Natalie felt the tug of a humored grin against her own before she pressed them to the lawyer's collarbone. "It means you have to put yourself out there a little. That takes a lot." And it seems that she had managed to do so, even if it was hard to admit. Another kiss was pressed to the middle of her chest, clever hands slowly traversing down Teddy's form. Every inch of her was to be worshiped.
"What was it that you had thought you wanted before?" She asked between kisses to her stomach, though her own breath was growing short - as much as she wished to juggle conversation and physicality, the latter was rapidly starting to outweigh the former.

It was such a personal question, but then, what about this wasn't personal? They were in the home she'd only allowed one other person to set foot in since she moved. She might have just met her, but she'd given a lot more away in the last few hours than she had to others in years. Teddy chalked it all up to circumstance, because she was hardly one to actually believe in luck.
She had little time to think on it, because slow lips were tracking with hands down the length of her form like they owned it. At least for tonight, they had such a right.
"Someone who I thought-" Teddy paused, pressed for a thought she could manage with what little air she had left in her lungs; "-Was an equal."

Everything about the combination between physicality and conversation were making her mind race and her breath short. She wanted to hear every response the lawyer answered with; even when she lacked the proper air, her answers were clever. Genuine. They deserved a proper listening ear, and at least some recognition of response. So a hum pressed to her lips pressed to her skin just below her stomach.
She even offered a few seconds of that recognition, letting it settle properly in her own mind before shifting the few remaining inches down her form.

Honesty among friends had always been a stretch for Teddy. She was the type to answer questions over offering information on a whim. Given what she did for a living, deducting from a line of questioning has always made sense. Connecting was difficult because of it.
But there she was; in her own bed with a perfect stranger admitting things she wouldn't dare tell to those dearest to her. An in depth conversation could make her heart race with a fresh intensity, especially when coupled with burning, blatant wanting physicality. It was good to be wanted, particularly by someone who didn't seem too intimidated by her. She didn't know her at all. Not really. Maybe that was what made pushing her against her own mattress so easy. Whatever it was, she certainly didn't act like she was new to this.
Breathing in felt harsh and heavy, like a weight on her lungs made every new hit of air thinner and weaker. Eventually her hand reached for the shoulder of her newfound counterpart, nails barely grazing her skin with a weak attempt at pulling her back up.

Despite this woman being a practical stranger, Natalie felt a desire to give her everything she possibly could. Like a connection was readily born between them at the first clink of a glass. Nails against her shoulder hand't hurt, but it was enough to draw her up, heavy breaths dusting her skin, lips grazing the surface until she was above the lawyer. An elbow planted into the mattress, free hand resting against her chest, tracing idle circles.
She pressed another kiss to her shoulder, eyes drawing closed as she lingered in the connection. "Someone who was your equal in what ways?"
