Purposefully, Teddy hadn't eased her hand away. She liked the connection, and despite the turn of their conversation, it didn't feel right to let go so quickly. Natalie seemed to want to reciprocate it for a little while longer, and she could appreciate that.
The break in her sentence offered a mutual understanding between them. There was no word for this; no definition and no proper, rigid justification. It was all so new, after all. Logic told Teddy to keep her mouth shut. Running on whatever feeling this was felt like something of a danger. In the end, she laughed too, almost awkwardly which was so unlike her.
"Me too. I understand." She said finally, letting her smile dwindle to something less awkward and more genuine in its own time. In that instance, all she could do was stare.

The share of an awkward laugh was unexpected; she hadn't been sure if Teddy knew what it was like to be awkward at all. Yet there they were, eyes caught in some sort of understanding that made the air seize in her lungs. And there it was - voiced. Understanding, and Natalie believed it to be true. Her lips parted, tongue crossing the line of them as if she were ready to speak, but words failed her when silence fell between them. It was probably better that way.
The way she looked back at Natalie made her pulse spike, and her smile settle into something warmer as she shut her lips. The affection Teddy offered was insurmountable, even in the way she stared. Dark eyes gave her every ounce of attention in return, prior anxiety completely escaping her when she could just look.

The last thing Teddy expected was an intense stare in her direction. But from someone like Natalie, it had all the sweet connotations she was so known for. In silence, all she had was the set of eyes on her to try and decipher this moment correctly. But this woman was an anomaly; she operated so differently to most people she'd ever met.
She wasn't sure how long she spent looking. That awkward feeling she'd had washed away long ago, and now, all that was left was this.
Leaning in through the break finally, Teddy pressed her lips against hers softly, lingering in the light connection made.

Natalie couldn't think of many that could handle silence as well as they managed to - even in something that felt as emotionally high as this, there was a comfort in it. And there was no need to break it with words. She wasn't positive with what she'd say were that the case, anyway.
And she moved so perfectly. Gentle lips pressed against her own were enough to make the trainer melt against the connection, eyes drawing shut. As light as it was, it felt packed with everything that might have been voiced, but wasn't. And that was perfect.
Her breath wavered when she needed a breath, forehead pressing to Teddy's as she kept her eyes shut. Briefly, she forgot where they were. In a car with someplace to go. It hardly seemed like it mattered when she kissed her again.

The thought to kiss her had crossed Teddy's mind the second she saw her, despite how upset she'd looked. It lingered in the back of her mind like a welcomed distraction, but the timing of something so crucial was so important. Now that she seemed to be feeling better - now that she looked happy, of all things - it felt right. Thoughts of a prior incident melted away.
She was a perfect distraction within herself. Stressful thoughts of what she wasn't willing to say filtered out of her mind in the small break between them. She ignored all pressing thoughts to give in to the way she was kissed a second time, well aware of the weight behind that light connection. The second she got a chance, she drew a breath, pointedly keeping her eyes closed as her mouth cracked a smile.
"We should go."

Within the proximity, Natalie could practically feel the smile against her own lips. It drew a short breath out of the trainer, a little bit of humor escaping her. Because it was so crazy how this woman made every thought in her mind so elevated.
"We absolutely should." Natalie agreed on another breath, letting it dust her counterpart's features. As much as she wanted to be completely wrapped up in her, the parking lot of a yoga studio wasn't exactly the best time nor place. To combine it with the dangerous thoughts that ran through her mind, they needed to stop. At least for the moment.
But she lifted the hand that held her own, creating distance only to draw it to her lips. A slow kiss to against her knuckles to make up for the distance that would have to be created for the lawyer to drive.
