I honestly think Rya and Deb may get along pretty well. Rya's still a bit of a wild child and has a sharp wit that not everyone can handle. She'd also be utterly fascinated with Deb's power. I don't particularly have any plot in mind (I usually don't c': ) but I'd really like to put them together.
So, I think it's pretty clear that I want to throw Rya with Carter and Lucy. They're great, honestly.
I'd say I'm also curious to see Rya and Adena? She seems like an interesting enough character. If you wanna plot something out with specifics, I'm down for that. Just lmk
I want authentic. I don't like forced plots or ships. Vague plotting is fine so long as we have a good foundation. I'm indecisive as hell, so I don't do well with planning from point a to b, anyway. I haven't roleplayed in quite a while, so I'm still navigating this section. I don't expect anyone to be perfect because I'm far from it, but I strive for authenticity over all else.
ACTIVITY
► How often can you reply to a thread?
I don't want to put a number on this just yet, but since I do work, go to school, and take care of a dog, I may not be able to volley every day. I'd say, generally, once every other day or so. If I'm interested in a thread, it may be more frequent.
► How long are you willing to wait for a reply to a thread?
Two weeks. It is so hard to maintain a character storyline when you're still roleplaying an event from three months ago.
► What about volleying?
If we both can volley, and I'm interested in the thread, then I wouldn't mind doing a nice volley every once and a while.
► Tagging
I'd prefer to be tagged every time someone needs me to see something. If you'd like me to see a reply, please tag me. If you are trying to get in contact with me but don't need my immediate attention on an OOC thread, please tag me.
► Contacting you?
Discord, really. I doubt I'll ever check the messages on proboards unless I have to. My discord is Aisling#4767. You can add me if you'd like, or just get to me via the site server.
► Anything else?
I'm far from perfect, so I don't expect anyone else to be. Also, I'm friendly and don't bite, so don't feel like you can't message me anytime.
LIMITS
► Godmodding
This is the only thing I'd like discussed beforehand. If your character wants to punch the crap out of mine, let me know. We'll still take it as it goes, but don't expect that every hit will land and that my characters will go down immediately. As I'm writing this, Rya is my only character, and she loves boxing. It won't be easy to strike her down. So no, I don't enjoy Godmodding, and I will call you out on it if I see it. No hard feelings, but I know my character, and you know yours.
► Romance
If there is something I've learned from the many years of roleplaying, it's that good romance plots that stick with you never come preplanned. So I'd much rather it come from a natural progression than any plotting beforehand.
► Violence
This one depends on the other person, really. If I need to fade it out, or imply a violent scene, then I'll definitely let you know. Off the top of my head, I can say there really isn't anything that I'd want to do that with, but we'll play it by ear.
► Sex
I think sex scenes are incredible ways to develop a character. With that said, fade-to-black is the only real option. I love writing the lead up, though. Again, this is another play it by ear situation.
Depends on the crowd Emmett hung out in, really. She jumped from group to group, year to year for the first two or so years in college until she recently sort of settled on a group she prefers over all else. I'm sure they could have met at a party once or twice when she was a freshman or sophomore?
From what I read, she has a similar tendency to avoid any emotional ties to another person. I think it'd make any physical relationship (should they have one), and friendship, relatively easy because they both would be on the same page of where it would and wouldn't go.
You know her better than I do, though, so tell me what you think!
[attr=class, ladevoteesc]Rya is a hard-headed, opinionated woman who backs down to no one. Her sharp tongue, which used to be nothing more than a defense, is now a staple of her personality. If you're not able to handle the back and forth, then she's not the person to be around.
From a more intimate standpoint, however, Rya is an art and nature lover. Her passions lie in the element she can manipulate, and how every object has a history. She'll sketch animals, landscapes, and so many other things that pique her interest at the time. She aspired to become a tattoo artist from a young age, and still occupies her time with potential works that she eventually wants on her body, but for the moment has put that to the side as she finishes her degree in art history. [attr=class, ladevoteesc]Lorena Ivaskov is the Ivaskov matriarch, and that identity consumed her to the point where she knows little about her own self outside of that responsibility. She came to American alongside her siblings in part due to her desire to discover herself outside of her father's iron grip. (To be Continued) [break][break] ---- [break][break]

♦ THE ABILITY ♦
POWER: Hydrokinesis (Water Manipulation) As the name suggests, Rya is able to manipulate water to the best of her ability. This does mean that she can suspend, carry, form, bend, and throw the liquid in a multitude of different ways. She is also able to pull it from different sources, including the air.
LIMITATIONS:
First and foremost, Rya is able to manipulate water and water only. This means that while she is able to manipulate H20, she cannot with any other liquefied substance. The denser the water, the more difficult it is to manipulate. She can not make the substance from something that is not there, despite the appearance of such when she pulls from the moisture in the air. She is not able to manipulate water into it's different forms, with the exception of water vapor, meaning that while she may be able to pull the moisture, she can not turn liquid into gas or ice.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
The primary side effect - muscle fatigue - is dependent on the extent of her use. The denser the water, for instance, the more energy and strain on her muscles. It may seem less physical of an element, but the weight of it all takes its toll.
♦ THE CHARACTER ♦
HEIGHT: 5'4" (162.5 CM) HAIR COLOR: Naturally a dark brown, but has been dyed to be more mouse-to ash- brown
EYE COLOR: Heterochromatic, though the primary color is blue. The upper left portion of her right eye is a light brown.
MISC: In reference to tattoos, Rya has two. The first is a small cursive script saying "power to you." The second is a line of symbols on the inside of her right arm.
PERSONALITY: Rya is far more complex than what she'd lead to believe. On the outside, she's crude, unapologetic, confrontational, and generally just a difficult person to get to know and be around unless you, too, have a similar personality. Should a person delve deeper, they'll find a girl who is simplistic in nature, preferring comfort and basic necessities to overindulgence and opulence. She certainly does not lack conviction, and walks through life allowing no one to sway her. The world, she believes, offers all that a person needs. Money can only go so far and create a sense of false happiness. Her art reflects this mentality, with landscapes and nature the focal point of most of her pieces.
That doesn't mean, however, that she isn't the girl she puts up as a front. She is promiscuous (though that particular term connotes a negativity that she doesn't identify with), and she can give a sailor a run for his money when it comes to vocabulary. Rya isn't particularly gentle in nature - her favorite pastime is boxing, after all - and she isn't the easiest to get along with.
Her method of dealing with difficult things comes in two forms: she either tackles them head on, or she seethes until she explodes. The difference comes in the type of problem presented. Does it require a more emotional reaction? If so, she shuts it out. Does it require more superficial means? Then she'll tackle it in whichever way she sees fit.
SECRET(S): Though she is significantly less angry than what she once was, Rya is the way she is as a reaction to a traumatic betrayal when she was young.
She is terrified of falling in love.
♦ THE HISTORY ♦
Rya, born Aryana Darcy, grew up in a modest apartment in the outskirts of London, England. Her mother, a secretary for a law firm in the city, met and fell in love with an aspiring tattoo artist from the north of England. Within two years, the conservative woman and liberal man married. A year later, Rya was born.
Her story didn't really start until she turned 13. Up until that point, Rya had been a normal, happy-go-lucky child with little care in the world. Conflict between her parents rarely occurred in front of her, so in her mind, everything was perfect. At 13, upon coming home from school with headphones in her ears, she went immediately to the shower as she usually did. Her parents usually worked around the time she came home, so she certainly didn't expect to see her father in the shower with another woman.
What happened next is a bit of a blur. Somehow all the water that flowed out of the shower head went everywhere. It soaked her clothes and surprised her father and his lover. He scrambled for a towel but Rya was already gone, soaking clothes and all.
They came a week later, and when they did, she didn't say goodbye to her father. She couldn't look her mother in the eye. She left to St. Bethany, and acted out almost immediately after. For the first few months, Rya's anger created conflict among her peers, and she went in and out of disciplinary reform programs at the school. She did well enough in school, though, passing with B's and the occasional C. The only classes she ever did exceptionally well at were her training courses and any art courses. By her final year, she was known for sleeping around, fighting, and generally being a detestable human being.
It wasn't until she graduated that she decided to attend the University attached to the US school in Stagfort, Oregon. The coastal town made it an ideal location, and the emphasis on nature in the state only furthered her desire to get away from what she knew in England, including her family. She packed up, and in the fall semester of 2014, started at Bellfonte. She continued on her training path, and delved further into her passions as a person. She's currently in her junior year.
