Natalie was sure that with her counterpart fully dressed, she would find the strength to get up. But when Teddy turned, she found herself breathless. Even just a look was a dangerous game when all she wanted was to pull her back under the covers. She exhaled desire when hands found her face, unable to take another breath when she was kissed so sweetly. Her eyes drew shut, hands easily finding their way back to the lawyer as they settled on either side of her.
When Teddy spoke it sounded like it was almost a goodbye, but the second kiss she received contrasted those thoughts. "And you too," she managed softly, reverting back to a hushed tone. Her forehead pressed against the lawyer's, lingering in the space before offering another gentle kiss. "I'll miss you."
With the zip of her dress securely between her shoulderblades, Natalie still lingered. Drawn to her, it was never easy to actually let go once she touched her. "I have two students training today, so I'll be heading into the school later today." At least she didn't have the day off. Knowing they both had to work made it a little easier, or she hoped it did.
Her head ducked down, pressing her lips lightly to the exposed skin between the line of her dress and her neck. When she eased herself away, her hands were slow to traverse down the length of her form before dropping off entirely.
Caught trying to make herself decent, Natalie's gaze turned back to the lawyer when she spoke. She'd already managed to get hold of her t-shirt, but anything else was too far from the comforts of her bed. She dragged the shirt on over her head before hauling the sheets off herself and rising to her knees.
"Thank you," she replied, inching towards the edge of the bed. "Here, let me." She had yet to ever help the lawyer put on an article, having much more experience with the opposite act, but her fingers clasped the zipper, slowly drawing it up.
Though she couldn't catch her eyes, Natalie kept her gaze on the lawyer. Already, she missed the warmth of a form she now found familiar. Dragging the blankets up to her shoulders, she leaned back against the pillows, letting silence fall between them. Maybe it was easier that way. And as she started to gather her things, the trainer felt the mental stirring of the other beings in her home. How two canines were now at the door to the bedroom, waiting to greet and find their way into the bed they couldn't sleep on that night.
It was enough to make Natalie move, though only enough to reach over the edge of the bed to secure a couple of discarded articles to slip on herself.
There were many words that could be used to describe Teddy, but irresistible seemed the most appropriate in a moment like this. Everything about the lawyer was calling to her; she could feel the way she wanted to stay, and that just made it all the more harder. But as a familiar hand tracked across her shoulder and down to her chest, she knew she'd have to move. There was comfort in knowing that it wasn't what the lawyer wanted, though.
A small hum passed her lips when gentle pressure eased her back and she let herself fall on the mattress.
Breathing was already a struggle; it forced more breaks between them, but each new kiss carried fire. And when an apology came forth, the trainer almost wanted to laugh, if only because she wasn't sure just what it was for.
"You are irresistible." She breathed against the lawyer's lips. "How am I supposed to let you go?"
A familiar body against her own made every plan to let Teddy leave her bed and home completely vanish. Her elevated heart rate banged through logic when she was kissed like that.
So when her lungs screamed for oxygen, she only dared for half a breath. "Teddy." Though she herself didn't know how she tried to stress her name; there was too much of a conflict. Rather than offering anything else, she caught her lips again.
An agreement came between them. Plans were made. Natalie offered a little nod in the remaining space between them, a humored breath escaping her lips at the predicament they had come into. She was sure it was a request to move, but before she could peel herself away, a clever hand pressed to the back of her neck, and she was all too willing to comply.
Her hand lost the pressure to hold her up, body pressing entirely against the lawyer as her palm squeezed between the sheets and her back in an attempt to somehow pull her closer.
Making plans was a helpful distraction. It made it seem like it wasn't so unreasonable for her to leave for work, even if Natalie knew she would miss her counterpart in their hours apart. At least this gave her something to look forward to. Weight shifted onto one arm, the other coming up to brush disheveled dark hair away from Teddy's face. Or maybe she just wanted to keep touching her.
"We could meet somewhere." It was probably the best way to guarantee they'd actually make it to a given place. "You did say you knew of a couple good places."
Controlled breath often lead to clarity, but something as simple as a touch from the lawyer had it wavering. A smile on her lips caught Natalie's eyes as they dropped a little. Every little offering was taken in. Appreciated. She still couldn't entirely wrap her mind around having Teddy's attention so completely.
The curve of her own mouth grew upward as she leaned further down against the form beneath her, close enough where her nose brushed against Teddy's lightly. "You caught me," Natalie confessed with a matched whisper. "Assuming we could make it out the door this time."
She almost regretted those words entirely, but pieces of the conversation from the night prior lingered in the back of her mind. Of course she hadn't wanted to leave, but she didn't want to be the cause of why Teddy didn't make it into work. The importance of her job was paramount. But she made it so hard.
Her spine curved inwards towards the lawyer as fingertips traced the length of her back, drawing a slow breath out of Natalie. She couldn't even think of a clever way to answer the former question.
"Tonight, if you'd like." She breathed instead, "Anytime. Soon."
A quick distraction was potentially dangerous, and it certainly turned out to be. The alarm never stopped, and the trainer didn't need her eyes to realize that the device was dropped, though her attention was thoroughly grabbed at the way she breathed in response. It only served as encouragement. Natalie thought to offer a little more pressure, but suddenly her counterpart was gone. Dark eyes snapped open to try and find her, only to realize that she hadn't gone far.
She had to laugh. At least a little. "Come on," she tried, though weakly, as she stretched over the lawyer, taking hold of the phone herself and quickly shutting off the increasingly annoying sound. Once it was silenced, she looked down at Teddy, hovering over to her. "If you stay much longer I don't know if I'll be able to stand you leaving."
Early mornings were something Natalie was familiar with. It allowed her to get a head start on her day before heading to the academy. She'd already gone for a run, cleaned up and was ready to go. With the spare time she had left, a trip to the local bookstore seemed like the best way to spend it. Her current read was quickly running out of pages, and she surprisingly didn't have another book lined up.
Her dogs were waiting patiently outside as she scrolled through the titles with no real rush to finding something in particular. Every now and then, she would hook a finger on the spine of a book and read the synopsis. So far, nothing had stuck out too much.
Natalie had just put a book back when she noticed someone staring at her in her peripheral vision. Turning to face her, she offered a warm smile. "Good morning. I'm sorry, am I in your way?" Immediately, she stepped to the side, assuming that the blonde was looking for something in particular.
She was well aware of the little time they had left before Teddy inevitably had to leave. Tearing her gaze away would only cement the idea, but turning off an alarm without aid of a set of eyes wasn't quite so easy. Aid from a second hand found its way, and despite the fact that she didn't want to lose the lawyer's gaze, the moment she turned her neck, Natalie instinctively pressed her lips against it.
Slow, burning kisses to her pulse spoke everything of how she selfishly wanted the lawyer to stay, even if she was making an attempt to help her leave. A poor one, but an attempt nonetheless.
The laugh Teddy offered brought out a grin from Natalie, her nose crinkling a little at what sounded a possible threat, but she'd have to wait to see if it really held out for what it was. "It wouldn't be so hard if you already had clothes here." Natalie pointed out easily, not one to forget their prior conversation on the matter.
She tilted her head up, kissing her again. And again, she was drawn in by the magnetic pull of the lawyer, unable to pull away nearly as soon as she should have. Even the sound of her alarm going off again had barely pulled her away, only enough where she hauled her hand off of her to blindly try and turn it off.
