♦ THE ABILITY ♦

POWER:  Boundless Genius 

Boundless Genius is an ability that allows him to build machines that most people could only ever dream of, with the right components and parts. In short, he is sorta ahead of the curve by a lot due to this ability. It may not be as flashy as some of the super powers, but it allows him to build overly complicated devices. Boundless Genius also has another sub power included in it in a way, namely that it can project schematics only he can see of devices that couldn't be built normally, so he could apply the technology of such to things that could work.


LIMITATIONS:
Boundless Genius is an ability that requires the materials in order to build anything. It also requires the financial resources needed to build the equipment, or pay for it to be built. Another limitation is that he would be at a severe disadvantage when up against Technopaths, or similar because of the fact that they could control machinery. Telepaths could short circuit his ability, pheromones would block it temporarily as he couldn't concentrate. Illusions would also be more of an effective weapon than one might think against him. Electromagnetic Pulses could also be a problem for him if his technology is not shielded against EMPs. 



SIDE-EFFECTS:

For one,  when he is inventing Veritas tends to work on a project until he very literally drops. In addition he cannot turn this ability off,  it is always on. His brain is always racing, thinking up new machines, and inventions that he must create right then. His ability forces him to at the very least draw the schematics for devices if he does not build them off the bat. Should he ignore this compulsion he would get painful headaches. In addition, he must consume a lot more Omega 3s, and similar foods that would help to boost his brain. Another problem is that he burns a lot of calories, and so must eat a lot more than an average human. This also has turned his skin green. 

♦ THE CHARACTER ♦

HEIGHT: 5'6 

HAIR COLOR: Black, Flat Top 

EYE COLOR: Green, but uses contact lenses to change it to purple.

PERSONALITY: 

Veritas is not a fan of those who have powers of high levels in combination, such as super strength, or super speed, or super speed and telekinesis, or similar. In fact, quite the opposite, he would not get along with such individuals and is prejudiced against them, believing they have gotten by far too easily. In his eyes, those who have the lesser powers are the better ones, ones who must struggle to get by, and work their way to whatever power they have. Veritas also possesses an obsession with pushing the boundaries of technology, and loves to invent and create new items. To that end, he is willing to sell his creations to less then moral individuals, as well as to law enforcement and similar groups in order to test them, when he doesn't test them himself. Typically he prefers to test whatever gadgets that he creates his own self, because he doesn't want to put others at risk. When it comes to a fight, while he may have honor Veritas is not above resorting to extremely cheap shots in order to bring his opponents down a peg or two. 



SECRET(S):  Veritas secretly deals out high tech weapons. 

♦ THE HISTORY ♦

When he was 10 and 1/2 years old,  Veritas was approached by recruiters because he had dismantled a broken toaster, and a TV set and assembled a laser using a broken down blender his parents had been about to throw out. This is what drew the attention of the recruiters. When the recruiters came the first time, the one in charge of them decided to use force. This ended up with the recruiter in the hospital, and they didn't come again for a couple of weeks. 

Upon their return they talked it over with his parents,  and Veritas as well. Veritas agreed, on the condition he be allowed to take all of what he had so far with him, and that he stay in touch with his family. At first the recruiters were not sure, but they decided to allow it. As he grew at the school and learned more about his ability he was picked on because he didn't have an ability most people actually thought worthwhile. This led to him developing a distaste for those who had super strength, or similar abilities at their disposal because he started to believe they had it too easy having everything handed to them on a silver platter. 

As time progressed, and he grew older Veritas continued to learn more about the world. As he did so, he realized that there were many who used their powers for heroic purposes. However there had never been one who used it for the purposes of an honorable villain. This he decided he would change when he was older, and it was what started him down the path of secretly creating technological weapons, and selling them to the highest bidders.
