Natalie Ilana Arazi FACE CLAIM: Gal Gadot♦ THE BASICS ♦ AGE: Twenty-Nine GENDER: Female ORIENTATION: Unsure POSITION: Bellefonte Trainer
♦ THE ABILITY ♦ POWER: Telepathic Animal Communication Natalie has the ability to communicate ideas with animals. Although she doesn't need to speak to talk to an animal, she often uses her hands and facial expressions to help get her points across. It's also not uncommon for her to speak to them like she would a person, but it doesn't actually help her communicate. Communicating with them is different than having a conversation with people - it's more just the expression of thoughts, ideas, and feelings more than actual talk. This also depends on the animal she is talking with. The smaller an animal's thought capacity is, the harder is is to get through with them - an example being that it is easier to express ideas to a dog than it is a goldfish. She also can pick up physical cues like body language from animals more quickly than the average person.
LIMITATIONS: For her ability to work, Natalie has to be within close range of the animal - the same distance it would be were she actually talking and for someone to hear (twelve feet max). Her ability does not work on humans at all. She has no control over the animals she speaks with. If she needs an animal to do something, she can ask, but it is not guaranteed to listen. The same works in reverse - an animal might attempt to express something that doesn't come across in a way she understands.
SIDE-EFFECTS: Migraines are a common occurrence for Natalie. The more she uses her ability, the worse the migraine becomes. If she spends too much time communicating with one animal or one type of animal, she can take on certain traits for a short period of time. She also struggles with person-to-person communication, especially if she's talked to more animals than people over a long length of time. Small talk is weird.

People never really made sense to me, and I guess I didn't really make sense to them either. I grew up in the third whitest state in America. My parents chose New Hampshire when they were moving from Israel because of the slogan - Live free or die. Maybe it gave them hope for a new start in a new country, I'm not sure. What I do know is that our family stood out in the small town we lived in. Some of the people there had never met anyone that wasn't white before. Nor had they met anyone that was actually Jewish.
It wasn't bad, but it was surreal. All my life, I stood out from the crowd. And in a way, I was isolated. I had friends, but only a few. I was always different. I suppose it made sense that I turned out to be a meta.
Twelve years old, and she didn't really even know that she was talking to the stray dog. She just knew he needed a home, and he knew she had one for him. She felt it in her chest - and that's exactly what she told her father when she brought him home after school. What her father didn't realize was how literally she meant it, until the recruiters showed up a week later.
They were all distressed over the move, but especially the dog she bonded with so quickly - Yoshi. It wasn't even the name she gave him; it was what he wanted to be called. And now she had to halfway across the country.

Bellefonte was the only area in Montana that really had anything. At least there, everyone was different. And I think I found purpose. I had a connection with animals that I wanted to share with people - especially those who had similar abilities as myself. Bonding with animals is a beautiful thing - more people should see that. So after I graduated I became a trainer. I want to help people find their potential. When Bellefonte moved to Oregon, I followed, and I must admit, I love Oregon. It is so beautiful and full of life.
Though the overcast sky forbid the sun from shining, Nat still found it to be a beautiful day on the Oregon coast. A simple sweatshirt covered her Adopt, Don't Shop shirt as she walked along the beach. Rolled up jeans were kept dry as her toes sunk into the sand and she breathed in the cool, salty air. Two leashes stuck out of her back pocket, but she let her dogs roam free. They knew not to get into too much trouble.

Animals make more sense. They're straightforward. People are... complicated. I've tried, and it hasn't worked out well, but when I go home, it's like I'm with my family.
Was dating always this awkward?
"This was... fun." Why do people lie? He was lying, and she could tell. It hadn't been fun. Nat tried to smile, but it fell flat. It was only worse when he tried to apologize. "Really, I didn't know you were vegetarian, otherwise I never would have brought us to a barbecue place."
"I'm vegan." And there was nothing on the menu that she could have eaten.
"Right. Right." Then he tried to kiss her. The idea made her stomach twist.
Closing the door behind her, Nat leaned against it, sliding down until she was sitting on the floor. It was when a small mixed dog approached her, nuzzling her nose against Nat's leg. It was the first time she smiled all night. "Thanks."

Two dogs, three cats, and tortoise. Her family.
This is Jodie, the German Shepherd. She's spoiled but takes care of everyone else. The Persian cat is Beau - he takes a while to warm up, but he's friendly, I promise. Zoe is the Tordie in the corner - she's mad at me right now because she's on a diet, so if she's rude, don't take it personally. Oz, what have I said about licking strangers? Sorry, now that she's used to people after I rescued her, she's just a love mutt. And the black cat is Adam - he's friendly but likes to play bite so watch out. And last is Maura here - she's an African Spurred tortoise - she really brings the party out in everyone.
It didn't matter how long the day, they always welcomed her home. They always made her home.
