It was a long shot to ask about the lawyer, and Emmett hummed in response. It was absolutely true; being in law school sounded boring. Still, she reflected back on the prior conversation before realizing her head was too stuck in the past week when she had perfect company right next to her. She extended her free hand out, pressing it to April's leg and giving it a squeeze just above her knee, both for fun and acknowledgement of her friend.
"So what's the club scene looking like?" She asked instead, dark eyes glancing over towards her. "Anything exciting happening in this town?" Though Emmett usually went out too, they were different scenes. She preferred a good bar over something with overplayed pop music blaring.

April spent most of her life bouncing between things and people she loved to be involved in and with, with the rest of the gaps filled up by jumping first into new things. As a result, she'd fallen into things like paint balling, diving. She'd even done sky diving once, now that was one hell of a rush. Though she always seemed to come back to clubbing at some point, she just absolutely loved it. She smiled at the contact, not saying much about it, as far as she was concerned small shows of affection were normal and didn't need much more than just a smile or similar response.
After scratching her head for the answer for a few beats she shrugged. "Well it depends on where you want to go. Seems like there is something for everyone. Clubs that cater to people like us, clubs that cater to the gay crowd, clubs that cater to the straight crowd, different genres of music, cultures." She snorted. "I feel like they pop up everywhere. Personally, I tend to go to a different one most weeks, some are more fun than others, I like some of the nerdier ones, there are some cute guys and gals there~"

If Emmett ever ended up at a club, it was usually because she followed April into one. Making a preference on one from the other was beyond her expertise, in part because she wasn't much of a dancer. It was easy to move to a beat, but to make it look good was entirely different. She grinned at the thought of joining her, though, hand returning to the wheel as her thumbs drummed against it. "Who knew you'd be into nerds." Emmett mused with little laugh, but the statement wasn't intended to offend.
As per the directions called for, she took a left turn at the lights, her left foot pressing the accelerator to help with the small hill they climbed up. "I get that though. I mean the going to different places thing." It was great to find a bar you liked, but something better about not being a regular someplace.

April flicked the switch on her ancient radio and hummed to the slightly crackling music radiating through the dusty speakers. She just couldn't bring herself to replace working parts of the car, it just felt so right. She was going to downright cry when the thing finally died and got replaced. It had been a present from her dad when she finally passed her driving test a few years ago, and she just didn't at all feel like parting with it any time soon.
She spun around with a smirk and kissed Emmett on the cheek. "Honey, I'm into everyone. Everyone with a personality at least, as long as you're a cool person, there is something attractive about you, if you ask me anyway."
Snorting, she replied. "Well I'm a bit of a spaz, so I get bored fast and tend to run around to try something new, or someone new." She drew out the someone.

It was so like April to just like people. The mechanic grinned at the sweetness in her reply, and it only grew when she felt the peck of a kiss against her cheek, exhaling a little laugh. Once there was a steady beat on the radio, her drumming matched the tempo against the steering wheel. The description of a spaz had Emmett glancing over to her friend. She related to the restlessness of similarity - how it was so much more exhilarating to find something new in a world where falling into a routine was so easy. Or maybe it was fear of losing that familiarity that she chose just not to find it instead.
But not her. Not with friends. Those were for as long as she could hold onto them for. Company was always welcome. "Hey, thanks." Emmett said, what seemed like out of the blue, staring forward towards the road. "I think I definitely needed this."
