"Andre" Aries Stratios Enyalios Oxys Andreiphontes Salvatore-Dareau FACE CLAIM: Timothee Chalamet.♦ THE BASICS ♦
AGE: 26 GENDER: Male ORIENTATION: Panromantic demisexual POSITION: Bellefonte College Student/Painter/Gardener/Musician
♦ THE ABILITY ♦
POWER: Paint Manpulation
The ability to create paint and as such change an objects colour. He must focus or be having fun (colours are fun to mess around with after all), and as such, being in a foul mood while painting is a no go. He can narrow the effects to his finger, or he can manipulate a large area. He also has a custom paintbrush he made for his specific talent, that makes the strokes much easier and fluid. However, his ability extends only to his hand or his brush. The ability is also easier if he's manipulating paint/chalk/pencils as he's using them. Using a similar or opposite colour (including related shades) on a standard colour wheel - black and white being simple exceptions, also makes it easier.
LIMITATIONS:
- He has to be using his hand or his brush to be able to change the colour of something. - Humans and animals are more difficult to do and require more focus. - Plants - depending on their size and complexity, vary between difficult and easy. A rose head is fairly easy as it requires one colour, and are fairly small, a full grown tree would be more difficult. Mostly because... heights. - Small to medium objects require little effort, as medium to large are a little tougher, anything more than maybe small 4 bedroom house (including basic furniture) may leave him passed out.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
- Depending on what the size of the object is, he suffers anything from a minor headache to a migraine. - Exhaustion and passing out can also happen depending on the object he's doing. - Sometimes in emotional distress or high positivity, his hair may end up with coloured streaks, acting as a mood-ring.
Note: Usually to avoid headaches, migraines, exhaustion and passing out, he tends to swap between doing it with normal artistic tools and his ability.
♦ THE FREEFORM ♦
It's ironic how I have such a long name, and each word is the god of war and destruction, yet I'm the total opposite, I love to paint, I love to decorate, I love music, I love gardening, and I'm a college student. Been here at Bellefonte since I can remember. It's been a long time since I've been home, but by the time they were satisfied with my prowess, I was old enough to live by myself, sure I visit my folks sometimes, I have two little sisters that are way younger than me though. Athena, goddess of strategy, she likes her name, but she certainly is not wise, she's the total opposite. I call her Firecracker. She's ten years younger than I. So she was just a baby when I manifested. It's an interesting tale.
I was probably about 13 at the time. I was mucking around in art, my favourite subject, when suddenly BOOM from my fingertip cam a splash of colour, changing my drawing of a red rose into a yellow one. A week later, I was brought to Bellefonte where I spent a lot of my time honing my abilities, I don't know any of the faces from my classes though, so I built no relationships worth mentioning. When I was nearing the end of my training, I was told about leaving or staying. And I decided to stay. I stayed at Bellefonte to pursue a degree in some art course. I live in an apartment in Stagfort, not too far from the academy. I'm on the fifth floor and I am greeted by the beautiful sunrise every morning.
Though, as it's a well established and furnished residence, I juggle three jobs as well as my studying. I'm a professional and specialized painter, specialising in colour coordination and design, this is usually a call by call bases, but sometimes I am given a weekly schedule, depends on how busy we get, though usually over breaks, I'm working full time painter during the day. My second job is gardening. Specialising in - you guessed it - colour design and arrangement. This I usually do on weekends and afternoons for a few hours, very rarely have I had these two collide. And my third job - well I say job, but it's more of a hobby. I like music. I like to play guitar and have played for as long as I can remember, I prefer acoustic, due to it's natural sound. I usually play at pubs and bars late at night, so it's not odd to see me around having a drink or two in between playing up on stage. I also busk in my free time. It seems like a lot of pressure, but hey, I can handle it. I've gotta pay rent somehow.
He had places to be right now, and couldn't be late. His first stop was painting a room for someone's 3 year old son. He got to the average white picketed fence house, and knocked on the door. "Good morning ma'am, I'm Andre Salvatore-Dareau, the painter specialist at your service." He smiled with a polite bow when the door was opened. "What good manners you have, please come in. My son's room is right this way. He's been excited ever since we spoke on the phone." The woman showed him into the house, and lead him through some hallways to the room. It was small, with a small single bed. The walls were white, with a faded scratched yellow bookshelf in the corner. The bed itself was made of wood, painted a baby blue. The colours were so mismatched, and he could see why he was contacted for this particular job. "But of course, ma'am, it is my job to keep my customers happy." His smile widened a little. He put his pack down and pulled out a small wooden container, opening it, he chose from one of the many handcrafted custom brushes he had made that best suited his ability. He pulled out a container with a basic colour palette and surveyed the room for a moment. "Any particular designs and colours?" He turned to the lady. "Something simple, yet adventurous." The lady replied. With a nod, Andre had picked a brush with thick bristles and began. Several hours later the job was done, and he was sweating somewhat, a mild headache having come on. The design of the room had been totally transformed. The bed was painted a deep brown, the blanket a gradient of browns and greens. The walls looked like the inside of a cave, with various etchings. and the bookcase seemed to have embodied nature. It was in a forest design. Needless to say, his current customer was impressed. They bid their farewells, and Andre was off to his job at the flower shop.
In his hurry he had bumped into a girl. She fell back and was dazed."Hey, are-are you okay?" He asked holding his hand out to help her up. She was pretty. Simple, but pretty. Pretty in a... natural sort of way. She had an air of purity and innocence about her, and Andre had found himself staring into her eyes. "Yeah, I'm fine." She smiled. She took his hand and he pulled her up. It seemed as if time had stopped, and he didn't realise he'd be late if he didn't leave. "I'm so sorry, I was in a rush and I wasn't watching where I was going." He apologised, looking sheepish with a lopsided grin. "It's okay, really." Her smile was bright, like snow in summer (though that's never happened before). "Let me get you a coffee to make up for it." He looked at his watch. "Oh pretty pickle petals! I'm going to be late! Hey, my shift today is only an hour, why don't you come with me and stick around, so I can get you that coffee afterwards?" "Uhm... well I was just about to head home, but sure." She smiled and nodded.
After his shift in the flower shop, the two were seated in a cafe. "Green tea for me please, and a...?" He looked to the young female across from him. "Flat white, two sugars, soy milk." She smiled politely at the waiter who wrote down their order and took off. "So, do you make a habit of picking up girls by bumping into them, taking them to work and buying them coffee?" She grinned at him. "Wha? No... Just you." He grinned back. "Oh, pardon my manners, I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Andre. Andre Salvator-Dareau." "Mintelia Rivers. Mint for short." She looked at the table. "It's a weird name, I know..." "Not weird! It's but on the contrary. It's unique and it sounds beautiful." Andre rested a hand on hers, before withdrawing it with an awkward cough. Their order was brought out to them and they both sipped their drinks. They started talking, and for some time too. Until Andre looked outside and realised it was getting dark. "It's late, we should go. May I see you home, so you get there safely? World's a dangerous place at night." She agreed and the two headed off. They had exchanged numbers and were soon dating. He'd leave a rose on Mint's door every afternoon, always of a vibrant yellow. She often wondered if he had grown it, or if he had manipulated it's colour.
