Cameron “Cam” Marshall FACE CLAIM: Nathan Parsons claims.♦ THE BASICS ♦
AGE: 28 GENDER: Male ORIENTATION: Pansexual POSITION: Bellefonte College Student.
♦ THE ABILITY ♦ POWER: Voice Imitation
The ability to memorise and imitate the voice of someone he’s been in an active conversation with (usually teachers, family and friends). He has the ability to do both male and female voices but with repercussions.
LIMITATIONS: His ability only works if the voice he has memorised is someone he knows or has had an active conversation with (teachers, friends, acquaintances, family). Female voices are also harder to do, and he generally has to know the female really, really well, and it still requires some concentration. He can only do one voice at a time though, as humans only have one voice box.
SIDE-EFFECTS: Sometimes he gets voices confused and doesn’t speak in his own. He also suffers minor personality changes (if a person is bubbly and it comes through in their voice, he will become oddly bubbly while doing the voice and for some time after). His voice tends to crack, though this is more apparent as he switches voices.
♦ THE FREEFORM ♦ Everyone has a voice, inside, outside, upside down, no matter whom you look at or how you hear it, there’s always a voice. It might not always agree with the words you speak, but it’s there. Sadness, joy, hatred, love, passion, compassion, its there, it’s always there. Conviction is putting our beliefs into words and speaking about them with no fear, no regret, pure simple passion, and those are the people I like best. There’s a... certain honesty that comes with conviction, it’s the truth as they know it. It’s a spark of confidence that aims to inspire. Perhaps that’s why I always like procedural cop shows and crime drama. Lawyers and prosecutors alike spoke with such conviction, with the truth as they know it, in a battle of wits.
My parents were always together, from the day I was born. They weren’t married, didn’t believe in it - said that it was enough to believe in each other, another example of conviction; maybe I got that from them? Dad was a pianist, mum a choreographer, never quite understood that, but sound ran in our family; from music to Kenny’s musical psychometry to my voice imitation. Ah yes, I’m a student at Bellefonte, a college student to be precise. My manifestation was... rather odd. I was 14, my sister only 8, we were bickering about something, can’t remember what, but when I went and told my parents and repeated the conversation, my voice cracked and suddenly I sounded like my sister. Not just a taunting mimicry, but EXACTLY like my sister.
It was nothing dangerous, but soon after that, maybe a week later? I don’t remember, I just remember some official looking people sitting my family down and telling us about Bellefonte, school for the gifted. And off I was taken. It was weird not being with my family at first, but I had good teachers and made great friends. And I still wrote to Aunt Olivia. She would send me these stories of hers, full of suspense and intrigue, and I loved each one of them, because somehow, she had managed to pull the voice of conviction through the characters. I heard she had gone on to study criminology. And wouldn’t you believe it Kenny got recruited too for musical psychometry, but that’s for her journal, and her to talk about. And now Aunt Olivia is just around the corner and the whole (well... most of) the family is together. Kenny had shared stories of being dad’s stage assistant and how mum had left to choreograph in LA and I shared stories of some of my voicing antics... but there are still many, many more of these tales to come, and I look forward to performing them.
