Pursing her lips to stop herself from smiling too widely at Teddy's words of support, Olivia couldn't help but give out a bark of laughter at the tease. "That long, huh?"
Olivia smiled and nodded. She didn't bother asking Teddy how she wanted her coffee before walking out and making a fresh pot. A couple of her colleagues made their way over to the pantry and made small talk with her as she waited for the coffee to to be made.
Brief glances over at Teddy's office later, Olivia was back with two steaming mugs, placing Teddy's on her desk. "Do you need me to do anything else for our trip?" She asked, taking a sip from her mug.

"If you're good enough." Teddy pointed out quickly, picking up that idle teasing tone offered to her in the first place. But it carried its own truth, and she must have known that.
In the brief time she was on her own, she was back on the phone again. There was a certain sense of smugness from her form as she declared her physical presence to the potential settlement tomorrow. When Olivia returned, she thanked her with obvious relief before breathing in the smell of coffee she'd skipped this morning.
"I think you have all our bases covered." She replied, nodding her head once. She allowed herself in that moment to settle back in her seat, like somehow she earned a brief break, even if she never really believed that.
"I honestly despise trying to explain myself over the phone." Teddy explained then. "I feel like it's just so much easier in person. When people can see you and see that you're genuine, or that you're dedicated - or formidable - it makes the world of difference."

She gave a small laughter at Teddy's quick response to the tease and shrugged. She knew she was chosen to be Teddy's right hand on a technicality but Olivia wasn't complacent. She wasn't about to coast through and Teddy was also not going to let her.
Teddy's assurance that they were set had Olivia nodding, breathing out a sigh of relief and she gave her boss a smile. A frown touched her brows when Teddy continued on. She understood where Teddy was coming from. Loathe as she may be to talk to someone face to face, she knew it was a lot better to do so than over text or phone because there would be so much lost in translation.
Olivia also picked up on the fact that Teddy had an uncanny ability to sniff out any irregularities in a person when they spoke face to face. It had to be her ability, Olivia thought to herself. Not to mention, Teddy's quiet presence almost demanded attention that not many people could boast about. Face to face was definitely an excellent way to go.
"I agree." Olivia nodded, taking another sip from her mug, ignoring the looks from the people passing by the office. Licking her lips, Olivia held her mug up to Teddy. "Don't forget your coffee. I have to go and finish filing some documents before I leave for lunch. Don't forget yours, yeah?" She walked over to the door and opened it before turning back to Teddy.
"Teddy, thank you. For this opportunity. I won't let you down, believe me."

Agreement was as comforting as it was promising. Teddy knew just how much of an asset her ability was and it was the exact reason why she didn't make it a point of talking about it. It was better when people didn't know, else they call her some kind of cheater for having such a perfect edge.
Of course she had to go. Time seemed to pass at its own pace in her presence. It felt like every time they spoke, she was reminding Teddy she still had work to do. And now she was all-but called out for potentially forgetting to stop long enough for lunch. Sometimes, it happened. It was one of the good things about Emmett bringing it to her. But of course this woman would notice where most people wouldn't breathe a word. "I won't." She practically promised. Not now someone had drawn attention to it.
When she stopped at the door again, she still held all of Teddy's attention. Bright eyes caught her in a snare as she seemed to speak from the heart. It was so real.
"I believe you, Olivia." Teddy offered her quietly. Honestly. She wouldn't give her the chance if she wasn't absolutely sure. She just hoped she could handle the pressure the opportunity was sure to bring.
