"I haven't had any communication with my parents since I went to St. Bethany's." Gina gave a nod as she listened to what Gwin said. She could understand not opening a letter. Gina wouldn't have known what to do if she received a letter from her parents. Hell, she wouldn't know what to do if she receieved one now. It would probably sit on her coffee table or in a drawer. Every now and then she would look at it, trying to work up the courage to open it and failing. She pushed the thought away. Her parents didn't want her to be a part of their family, well Gina had decided a long time about that they were not a part of her family.
She accepted the letter, looking at it curiously. "I will hang on to it." Gina said and set it in her lap, folding her hands over it. "That's an unfortunate way for a power to come about, and unsettling I'm sure...though I believe all manifestations are some sort of unsettling." She mused, there wasn't any pity in her voice though she did sound sincere about it being unfortunate. She shrugged. "I am not trying to preach anything. Not intentionally at least. My point was that schools like this - while they may be "shit" - they are here to train you to control your powers so your powers do not control you." She began to stand up.

Gwin knew what it was like to be ignored by one's own family. At least the teacher had something she could relate to. There came a point when she stopped looking at the teacher. Instead she stared into her lap or at the wispy smoke from her cigarette. "It was a piece of shit. I woke up in hospital being told that I couldn't go back to my own life." She breathed, stubbing her joint out.
Gina tried to defend the school, yet Gwin wasn't convinced. She didn't feel in control, at the least. What control did the school offer her? But she kept quiet, and stood when Gina did, smoothing out her jacket. "Bye. Was her simple farewell before she stalked towards the light of the door.
