Naomi Fitzpatrick FACE CLAIM: Lyndsy Fonseca.♦ THE BASICS ♦ AGE: Twenty-five GENDER: Female. ORIENTATION: Unsure. POSITION: College Student @ BA.
♦ THE ABILITY ♦ POWER: Bioprohiberis Naomi has the ability to freeze people in place, aka making their body immobile. While the person is frozen, they cannot move their body, but their otherwise bodily functions still work as normal, i.e she cannot stop someone from moving their eyes, or stop their heart from beating. They're also cognitively present, meaning that they'll be mentally present during the freeze.
While physical contact and hand gestures makes her ability more effective, she can freeze someone by looking at them if she concentrates. The moment her focus is completely lost, however, the person will unfreeze.
LIMITATIONS:
- Naomi's power only works with people and animals. Objects will continue to move. She cannot stop things such as cars, for example.
- The effect will always wear off. It's never permanent. So far, she can only freeze someone for 30 minutes at a time, and for each person she uses her ability on, the time period is cut in half.
- She's limited to line of sight. She cannot freeze someone she cannot see.
- People with psychic shields are immune to her ability if their power is activated. Same goes for power suppression.
- The world around her still moved as normal. The only ones affected by her ability are the ones being frozen.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
- Cleithrophobia: The fear of being trapped or stuck, leading to occasional panic attacks and a sense of anxiousness that can't be properly placed.
- Loss of concentration and focus. Easily distracted.
- Restlessness; Unable to remain in the same place or state for too long.
- Headaches: Mental exhaustion and straining that can lead to nose bleeds and dizziness.
♦ THE FREEFORM ♦
"He was supposed to be the first male love of your life. You still search for him everywhere." She was only three years old when he left. He said he couldn't do it anymore - that he'd had enough. While she doesn't remember much of it, her mother did everything she could to fill both roles. Her mother couldn't fill the void, though. Not completely. And she couldn't help but to wonder 'was I not enough?'.
Six months passed and her mother became the arm candy of this CEO - this terrifyingly powerful man that could offer them everything. Three months later and they moved to L.A. Another thirteen months passed and they got married. She was the flower girl.
"Thank you for being the dad you didn't have to be. My name sounds even cuter with your last name added to it." She was raised on the belief that she could do anything - be anything. So she became a musician. She started her piano lessons when she was six years old and she loved it - shortly after, the cello followed. The entire world lay at her feet and the wealth her new dad offered, could open any door. Doors she previously didn't even know existed.
She had a bright future ahead of her. At fourteen, she'd set her sight on Julliard. Then came the day where she realized she was more like her father than anyone had hoped. Two weeks passed and she was sent off to Bellefonte.
"A painter paints pictures on a canvas. But musicians pain their pictures on silence." While Montana didn't have everything to offer, she made do with what she had. She continued her passion. She kept on playing. Nothing had changed. Not really - she just had to achieve it from somewhere else than what she'd first planned.
She spent any free moment she could muster taking classes and practicing. She did her best to get good grades and train her power. While she excelled on the academical front, her social life suffered. But it was fine. She had a plan: A dream. She wouldn't let it go.
"Be who you were created to be, and you will set the world on fire." Upon graduation, she moved back home to L.A and applied for Julliard. It took a lot of hard word and practice, but she got in. She'd done it - and finally, she was on her way to achieving her goal.
New York didn't have the warmth L.A offered - or the beautiful scenery Montana had. It was a city filled with dirt, smoke and people, but she'd never felt more at home in her entire life.
"Will you love me in December, as you did in May?" While she was earning her bachelor degree and on her way to her diploma, he entered her life. She'd never cared much about love until the moment she heard him play. They spent the next three years together. And then he asked her to marry him.
It wasn't until a few months before the wedding that the bliss started to settle - and the tension started to rise. She was feeling restless - always carrying a sense of being trapped, and yet, she couldn't tell him why. He couldn't deal. So she left.
"I'm going to show him what a little girl is made of: Gunpowder and lead." New York and Julliard no longer felt like home. She didn't want to go back to L.A, either. She didn't want to face her mother's worrying eyes or her stepfather's pat on the back. She wanted to find the music again - and let it consume her whole being.
She was raised on the belief that she could do anything - be anything. So once again, she became a musician, but this time, she set her eyes on Stagfort.
