Death of a Bachelor
Happily ever after, a lifetime of laughter
One may think that owning a business came from the enjoyment of dealing with people on a regular basis. It wasn't that Elliot didn't like people, he just wasn't well-versed in the workings of social interaction. He'd always sort of kept to himself growing up and it only worsened after the death of his wife. Somehow in the last ten years his daughter had managed to become social enough for both of them so he supposed he had nothing to worry about when he was with her.
Nor did he really have much to worry about at his store. Owning his business, his music store, came from his love and knowledge about everything music-related. He could name bands, albums, songs of all genres. He knew the history behind them, where they first started, what song was their first debut. And he knew instruments, how to play them, tune them and fix them. His music store was a one man show, but Oregon was small enough that he didn't often run into any problems keeping up. Plus, his ten year old often took over on certain matters given that she'd grown up around music more than he had.
After dropping Avery off at school, he'd made his way to the shop to do his daily routine of opening, tuning and cleaning. A few people trickled in here and there, nothing extensive, so he remained behind the counter re-arranging guitar picks and fiddling with the music selection in the store itself. With his back turned on the store, he heard someone from behind him and he turned back to face them with a small quirk of a smile, "Hey, what can I do for ya?"
