It was rare for Carter to remotely act out of his stoic stature he was known for. He tried his best to offer the utmost perfect impression in just about every situation. Play wrestling with someone on a bed he didn't own definitely wasn't in his acceptable repertoire. Yet there he was, throwing her down with simplicity both because she didn't expect it and because he was just stronger.
The sound she made had him laughing. Her attempt to talk through the interaction was just something more to entice his actions.
Reaching down amidst his own laughter, he crossed his fingers through the mess of hair that covered his face, his free hand pressed to the unfamiliar mattress to keep him from falling. "You simply must forgive me." He declared, a broad smile shining through the humour that refused to fade.

The brunette managed to blow and wriggle some of the hair away from her face, though not nearly enough to make it comfortable. Lux had never seen this kind of playful side of him. Usually, he carried himself with an almost stuck up nature, as if there was always someone there, waiting for him to lose him composure. As if he had to act the part. She couldn't really blame him for it, though. It came with the territory, no?
Whether she wanted to admit to it or not, Carter was stronger than her and she wouldn't be able to just push him off or wiggle free. Of course, that didn't mean she had to give up and stop trying. Placing the palms of her hands against his chest, she tried pushing at him.
It was like trying to move a mountain.
And to think something like this amused him so. "What are you, twelve?" She couldn't quite help the pout either.

Hands pressed against his chest, but they were so fast to apply great pressure. It felt like nothing for the man who moved mountains for a living. Still, Carter was oddly keen to play the part. With little to no give he reeled back like she had a kind of super strength.
He flew back, but rather than leaving the bed he doubled over and let his own back hit the mattress beside her.
"Luxanna," Carter cursed her then, "When in the hell did you get so strong?"

Her body instinctively tensed at the sudden movement. Following his movements with her eyes, Luxanna let out a sigh. There was no victory to be found in this. Instead, she could almost feel the mock crawling over her skin. "You're an idiot," she said as she sat up, finally able to move her hair completely away from her face.
Now, where was that damn pillow?
It was better to focus on that, rather than the awareness of it all. She'd seen a completely new side to the blonde tonight and it made her confused. Sure, it was easy to blame it on the alcohol, but that didn't change the fact that he seemed different. As if he'd never quite let himself be so relaxed or so vulnerable around her. She didn't want to think about that.
"You're not going to move, are you?"

Carter watched the way she stood up. As she did, he hooked an arm underneath his head to elevate it slightly. In a way, it was how he could show her he didn't need the pillow. The plush might have aided most in sleep, but he was certain he could fall asleep without it.
When she asked him about moving, he made a point of keeping quiet long enough to survey his position. Fully clothed but respectably shoeless on a stranger's bed. Her bed.
"I'm almost positive I can sleep sideways." He replied, like that was the answer she was looking for. Like she wasn't asking if he was going to leave the room. "Though, my feet will absolutely hang off the edge. I can make it work."

She'd always known him to be arrogant. A prick, sure, but this stubborn? She gave it a moment of thought; Maybe she was the one being stubborn here. Maybe she was making mountains out of molehills. If her father came back this late, he would probably be too tired to make sure she was there. Besides, he knew she'd been working. Maybe he'd just figure she'd be out with Jack or something.
"Fine, whatever," she said in defeat. She even threw her arms up for emphasis. "I give up." She moved over to the edge of the bed. It was getting late and she was growing tired. "Do whatever you want." As she reached the edge of the bed, she stood.

Just as quickly as it had happened, it was over. Carter raised his eyebrows as she watched the way she stood up. A contemplative look barely grazed his expression before he muted it with something of a happier grin.
Her outburst reminded him of something so childlike. He genuinely considered having a go at her, especially after she'd called him a child more than once on this night. But he didn't. He didn't even think to fight for the pillow might take with her.
"Suit yourself, my dear." Carter said then, "Goodnight."

With a small shake to her head, the brunette walked over to where she'd left her bag and picked it up. "Don't throw up in my bed." She'd just have to deal with whatever might come of this, though, she could only hope her father didn't feel the urge to check in on her.
"Night," she offered, refusing to look at the smile on his face. She should have just left before, instead of wasting her time trying to change the mind of someone so set in their ways. And with that, she left the room.
