Clarke nodded with a smile, not thinking it was weird at all. He certainly had the build for it and if she recalled correctly, he also had the ability for it. What she did find endearing was that he was willing to come back to the place that didn't necessarily hold such good memories for him. She had built a life here to get away from the one she left back in New York and Bellefonte did give her her life back, despite the not so sweet memories of her adolescence.
"I think it's admirable that you chose to work for BA." She smiled.
Glad that he agreed to her idea of getting food, Clarke rolled her eyes at the slogan quip. "Don't tell me you're secretly Bruce Banner, Caleb. Oh wait...no, you're Spiderman, aren't you?" She teased with a smirk.
They began to walk towards the general direction of an eating establishment and she turned to Caleb when he asked his question. She released a huff of breath and chuckled. "I'm working at the radio station. Been a passion of mine since I was a kid so yeah, pretty good." She smiled. "I mean not a lot of people listen to the radio anymore but the job's satisfying, albeit having to deal with a dick boss or two."
She slipped her hands into her dress pocket. "Do you enjoy your work, Parker?"

She let her eyes follow Lux's gaze and closed her mouth as she started to giggle. Turning back to Lux, she quietly laughed before shaking her head.
When Lux assured her that she didn't mind hanging with her, Clarke gave her an affectionate pout. "Aww, aren't you a charmer." She grinned before pouring herself another drink. The bottle was almost emptying and she scrunched her nose a little.
"Sometimes, I wish I actually was related to Harry. Just...non-stop top-up." She mimicked brandishing a wand which actually activated her own abilities, causing the glass to tip over the bar. Thankfully she still had her wits about her enough to use it to counter the fall. "Shit..." she giggled as she moved the glass close to her. She looked over Lux to see whether any of the liquid spilled on her.

Clarke stilled Lux's hand before grabbing the bottle and setting it close to her. "Sorry, I'm probably gonna wanna finish the whole bottle. Thank you." Her voice lilted up into a sing song tone as she beamed at the brunette.
It didn't even bother her when Lux looked like she still didn't quite understand her dilemma. The nature of their occupations were different, that much was certain, and Clarke wasn't going to presume that everyone in the working world knew what was what.
Laughing at the offer, Clarke rested her elbow on the bar and her chin on her hand as she sighed. "I'd have to talk to people sober and without anonymity. I think I'll stick to my day job." She laughed again before shaking her head. "Night job, as it were." She gestured randomly to indicate the time of day.
"For what it's worth though, you're doing a really good job being a listener." Clarke nodded with a smile. "I shouldn't be hogging you all to myself."

She shook her head, suddenly feeling very bad for badmouthing an old roommate. It really couldn't have been much of Clare's fault, what happened, so Clarke shouldn't really blame her at all, but still...she remembered the things she had been persuaded to do and she didn't quite like it.
The snort had her turning to Caleb with a raised eyebrow. "Um...oh wait, are you working there now?" She asked, temporarily distracted from her worry over Clare.
The idea that other women find him attractive struck a chord with Clarke. A weirdly annoying chord at that. She swatted it away and concentrated on what Caleb said next. "Well...we could ditch? I mean if you don't mind. I'm kinda getting hungry but the food in there isn't...I mean I don't wanna eat in front of them."
Clarke realised how dumb she sounded and she hoped Caleb didn't think so but she did want to leave because she was hungry and the food at the reunion weren't food she can really sink her teeth into. Although if Caleb thought she was as dumb as she sounded, it was better for her to leave anyway.

Clarke was obviously touch starved by the way she responded to Natalie's touch. She leaned into her friend's hand and closed her eyes with a smile. She was awful glad that Natalie was invaded personal spaces on the regular because if not, Clarke would still keep her distance.
She chuckled lightly at Natalie's dramatics and curled a hand around her friend's wrist, squeezing it lightly before pulling it down. "Thank you, sweetie. I need to sober up before sleep anyway." She chuckled and let go of Natalie's hand to grab her purse from the table by the door.
"Thank you so much for tonight. As always. Love you." She pressed her fingers to her lips and waved at Natalie.

"Ooh, that's good advice." Clarke chuckled, finishing the drink in her glass and tapping the rim to indicate she wanted a refill. She was starting to get a little looser and more at ease.
When Lux offered her solution, Clarke groaned and shook her head. "The person doing the dead shift never has a say. The last one who did, I ended up taking over her show." She shrugged and looked at Lux with a grimace. "She's not dead...just uh...I just haven't spoken to her in years."
Clarke looked around and chuckled lightly. "I have been coming here for the past...five years? I wouldn't say you're wrong but..." Clarke chuckled again before waving a dismissive hand. "You do you, honey. You're still young."

Natalie's question brought a soft smile to Clarke's face before she shrugged. "You know why." She responded and placed the plates into the dishwasher.
Natalie probably knew her the best and she knew how strict she was about her routine. Part of her understood the lack of necessity for the routines but Clarke didn't like when she couldn't be free to do them.
She was about to reach out and hug Natalie just for comfort but she knew if she did, she'd just succumb to her baser urges and wake up a horrible mess. She really didn't want Natalie to see her when she was a mess. Hell, she didn't want anyone to see her when she was a mess.
Clarke released a light chuckle and waved a hand. "I didn't bring a toothbrush, anyway."

The idea of staying overnight was quite tempting in that moment but she had to go home. She had a routine she needed to follow. She didn't want to wake up cranky and miserable, especially not in a house where there were so many feelings to consider.
Lazily she opened her eyes and placed a hand over Natalie's cheek and patted it lightly.
"I shouldn't. I want to but I shouldn't." She stayed where she was for a few moments before gently pushing Natalie back against the couch and plucked Oz off and placed her on the couch as well. The mutt wriggled into her owner's side and went back to sleep. Clarke still had her wits about her, sort of. The cold night air could do her some good.
She looked down at Natalie with a hazy smile before picking up their plates and moving into the kitchen to wash up.

Clarke gave the man an affectionate smile as she finished her drink and shook her head at his obvious love for his cat. Now she really did hope he outlived them all.
Finding herself unable to stop the laughter from coming out, she placed a hand over her face and started shaking with laughter over his ego, faked as it was. She was starting to wonder why they never actually kept in contact through the years.
And then she remembered. She couldn't even look him in the eye.
As they left the hall, Clarke's heartbeat slowed down considerably and she swept the hair off her face before looking up at Caleb with a grimace. "She has a siren call. She made me do things I normally wouldn't have. I mean I guess I shouldn't blame her, she was struggling with her powers just as much as I was but she was just scary persuasive." Clarke rushed through her explanation. "I just remember being traumatised. A lot. By her."
Clarke realised that she'd just pulled Caleb away from their reunion party and she winced. "Oh...crap. I didn't mean to run us out like that. I...you should go back. You probably have more people to talk to than I do. I'll just uh...I think I'll just go home."

In her slightly inebriated state, Natalie's physical closeness to her didn't bother her as much. She was still quite aware of the placement of the woman's hand but she wasn't as put off by it. In fact, she sort of welcomed it. Natalie was perhaps the only person throughout her life that Clarke was comfortable enough to be this physical with.
Her eyes heavily drooped as she tried to recall where she put her bottle. "I don't think...I should go home right now." She started saying. "But...I can't...not...go home." Clarke mumbled as she closed her eyes, just to rest them.

Blushing at Natalie's encouragement, Clarke couldn't help feeling a little self-conscious over the fact that she even brought it up. She wasn't the type to fish for compliments but being around Natalie and her pets just made her a lot more open to sharing her feelings than if it was with anyone else. Especially because Natalie's pets are a lot more in tune to her emotions than most people are.
Oz nuzzling her just cemented that thought and she gave the mutt a loving scratch on the head. "Thanks, you guys. I'm hoping I get it." She scooped up more pasta and returned Natalie's smile before nodding. "Absolutely."
The movie played and Clarke got into it pretty quickly. She wasn't much of a commentator during movies. She laughed during the funny bits but otherwise, she was quiet. They paused a couple of times for bathroom breaks and beer runs and when it finished, Clarke was pleasantly buzzed and leaning against Natalie. "That was a pretty good movie. Emma Stone...she's...yep."

Clarke laughed at Natalie's words and also at the fact that Maura had denied the whole thing. She thanked Natalie for her plate and settled the bottle of beer in between her hip and the edge of the couch.
She popped a pasta into her mouth and turned to Natalie with an affectionate smile. "Me too. I wish I had more time in the day to do things but my sleeping schedule is so out of whack. It's really my own fault for taking up the dead shift." She rolled her eyes. "But Summer is leaving in a few months and the afternoon drive slot is gonna open. I'm hoping she does recommend me instead of Wells."
Natalie had gotten enough texts from Clarke complaining about Paul Wells, one of four DJs for the radio station she worked at, who was a complete scumbag off the radio. But he pulled in a big audience with his shows so he usually got the better slots.
"Ugh, I'm sorry I'm being a little bummy, guys." She scratched Oz behind her ear and popped another pasta in her mouth. "Ooh...this is good."

Giving out a polite chuckle, Clarke wondered if it would be a good idea for psychologists to actually work in bars. It would honestly be a nightmare, she'd imagine. But most bartenders do tend to be natural listeners. Or at least pretend to be. That was good enough, she thought.
"Oh I'm not complaining, not really." She shook her head and chuckled lightly. "Although my back is already killing me sometimes. That could very well be due to all the sitting I do." She waved a dismissive hand and apologised. "Could be worst."
She listened as the young woman gave her opinion and Clarke shrugged. "It should but the way this is going, it just doesn't seem to be. No one is offering an actual solution to the problem. Just...a lot of dick sizing competitions." She blurted out with a sigh. She drank from her glass and licked her lips.
"I can't imagine being in your shoes though. I don't think you're paid half as much as you should be." Clarke gave a sympathetic smile towards Lux.

Clarke saw the disapproval coming from Natalie and she covered her face in slight embarrassment. "I know, but I honestly can't be bothered with cooking and the black bean noodle from Kam Soon is to die for. They're actually pretty vegan friendly, come to think of it." She lifted her shoulders and faced her palms upwards with a cutesy smile.
She grabbed the beer bottle, careful not to jostle Oz too much and settled back on the couch, narrowing her eyes as she made her decision. "Battle of the Sexes. I haven't watched that one yet but I've been meaning to." She took a sip from her bottle, her eyes lighting up when she saw the tortoise crawling over.
"Omigosh Maura's out! I didn't even see her earlier." She would have reached out to pet the reptile if Oz wasn't already dozing off in her lap. "Is she still doing that weird snorting thing at night?" Clarke asked, remembering Natalie telling her that a few days ago.

"Oh no, it's fine. The dogs love me so I'm good." She waved a dismissive hand, not at all seeing it as anyone's fault but her own. Clarke knew enough about cats to know that it was normal behaviour.
As if on cue, Clarke's stomach rumbled and she patted it. "You're saving me from another night of take out." She smiled warmly at Natalie before bringing the plates over to the couch.
"Beer, love. Please." Clarke set the plates on the coffee table and the moment she sat on the couch, Oz bounded over and jumped on her lap and curled up, looking like he was going to be there the whole night. "What's on tap tonight?" She asked, gesturing to the TV.
