The thought of getting used to someone else was cringe-worthy. She'd come across temporary people that she didn't mind having around for a certain timeframe, but they either expected too much from her or they got bored. Companionship wasn't easy to come by, but she had Emmett and that was honestly the only friendship she needed to rely on. She didn't think she'd ever find anyone that would fill the hole that would be left if Sam separated his life from hers. He'd always been such a constant factor. She needed him for the stability. It was a weird relationship, for sure, but it was the only one that made any sense to her.
"He hasn't mentioned it, but he's starting to venture out more. He's being integrated into social life more each day, kind of testing the boundaries of his ability. If he gets it under control, he'll have nothing stopping him," Alex shrugged. She wanted more than anything for her brother to gain control over his ability. The risk it had over his life was too much and she wanted for once to not have to worry about his heart exploding. "I'm sure I could survive on my own and all. I just don't really want to I guess."
Emmett's joke made Alex smile and she rolled her eyes, "As if I'd willingly leave you behind. You're pretty much the only friend I've managed to maintain, not something I take lightly." It wasn't that she believed they wouldn't maintain a friendship if she moved, but she couldn't honestly think of anywhere she'd rather move to. Montana was a bust, she couldn't very well go anywhere near where she'd grown up as a kid and she didn't do much traveling.
The confidence her best friend had in her brother sticking around was almost comforting. Except, Alex had been dwelling on their separation for most of their lives. It had struck her hard when he manifested weeks before her. She thought she'd never see him again. Alex wasn't keen on having that sickening feeling wash over her again. If she had any say, Sam would be stuck forever.
"Unless he miraculously finds someone else that can put up with his weirdness. It's a long shot, but, y'know, so was making any friends at all in mutant school."
So my designated posting day got ruined when I found out that I failed my review for school /again/ and now have no idea what the Hell I'm doing with my future. I no longer have the motivation to do anything, so therefore those who are waiting on posts for me, it'll be a little longer. I can't really say when it'll be, but I guess we'll find out.

Ask me how I'm doing I'll say okay, but ain't that what we all say?
Hey ya'll, so this month is getting pretty jam-packed. This week I've got to get my portfolio together for another round of Junior Review with the high hopes of not failing (by .42), so I'm doing my best to focus a lot of my free time there. Work has me slammed all weekend because of St. Patrick's Day. Next week is the week before Spring Break and my sister's baby shower is next week. I'm in charge of baking and chocolate covering for over 100 people. Then after that I have Spring Break which I'll be working and hopefully have more time for all the writing! I'll be spotty, but I'm around. And I'm always on Discord if ya'll need anything. Just giving those of you who have a ton of threads with me a heads up
THANKS Trix

Alexandra is better with computers than she will ever be with humans, so friends are few and far between. If they can handle sarcasm, bluntness and video games, then they can be her friend.
-Sam Harper // "Lex your heart is showing" -Emmett Coupland // "You got this" -Evan Smoak // "A pretty one for sure"
Enemies...
Basically if you fuck with Sam, her twin, you're an enemy. She has more people that don't like her because her bluntness than she has people that she doesn't like.
Lovers...
Alex is attracted to people, not their gender or their age or anything in between. It takes a lot for her to get there though.

He doesn't really try to make friends. He never has. Luca likes being left alone, but he wouldn't quite say no to a friend here or there. They just have to be able to stand the frigidness of his personality and the air around him.
-Callie Gallo // "It's you and me." -Lorena Ivaskov // Other half; twin
Enemies...
Due to said frigidness, it's much easier for Luca to make enemies. He doesn't filter what he has to say to people because he doesn't care if they like him or not.
Lovers...
There was one a long time ago that meant something, but since then he's wasted his efforts on women he doesn't really care for. Love isn't really something he thinks he's capable of feeling. The one before was just a freak accident.

Friends...
McKenna is a ball of sunshine, she's happy and bubbly and constantly singing. She loves people, always has, and finds it pretty easy to make friends as long as she's feeling outgoing. It can depend on the day though due to her ability and the playlist she's currently submerged in. If you're her friend, she will be straightforward and honest, there's no tiptoeing with this one.
-Carter Chevalier // "But you're here."
Enemies...
Kenny can be a bit much for people and she's aware of this so she tends to take the vibes as they come. If people don't like her, she stays away from them as best as she can. She doesn't need that kind of negativity in her life.
Lovers...
When she's on a love song kick, Kenny is all about that romance. She wants an epic love, one like her parents have that is completely comfortable and one hundred percent faithful. In these times...it's a little difficult to find.

One of the biggest things she believes in and holds fast to is love. She loves love in the most loving way. She's bohemian, one of their ideals is literally love. Flings aren't really her thing, but she just wants some genuine human connection.
She was pleased that he hadn't made her feel silly for unloading all of her inner turmoils on him. Of course she still felt uncomfortable about it. She obviously needed to talk to a human being about her problems that had to do with Sam, but making friends was hard to do for someone who thought so much like a machine at all times of the day. Emmett was the closest thing she had, but after a while she felt bad for depending on one person as much as she did outside of her brother.
Alex returned his smile and nodded, "When you're surrounded by computers all day, I guess it's safe to say that a little human interaction can lead to serious unleashing. I feel like a total idiot, you don't even know me." All she'd done was fix his computer, he hadn't asked her to dive into who she was. "You don't by any chance have some psychology degree do you? I'm just trying to justify why I felt comfortable enough to tell you all of that," She laughed awkwardly.
She was pretty excited to be going on an adventure. Her mind was dulled which was keeping the technological devices around her at a low mumble. She didn't feel quite as crazy which aided in her ability to socialize. It helped that she was with her best friend, the only real friend she had. Part of the reason she went out when she could was to feel this way, to feel relaxed and human. "Let's do it!"
Alex was looking around as they started walking down the street and towards where a sports bar would be. It wasn't often that she'd say she was going to a sports bar, not unless she was there to hang out with Emmett. She glanced at her friend and shrugged her shoulders, "Classes are okay. I'm happy to be almost done with them. Although that means real world stuff and I have no clue what comes after school."
There were a lot of factors to consider about her future. The biggest one being Sam. She couldn't leave him and she was hoping he wouldn't leave her, but they hadn't talked much about where they were going after the academy.
It was probably wrong for her to request something like that when he was half asleep. It wasn't like he was aware of what she was going to do, not fully anyway. But she wasn't going to take it back now because it was serious. Sam had never had a girlfriend, she was allowed to be over protective if she wanted to.
When he curled up closer to her, she smiled and cuddled him, kissing the top of his head, "Sam, you still awake?" If the girl panned out to be something better than Alex expected, she was going to cross that bridge when she came to it. It wasn't like she wanted her dweeb of a brother to be alone forever. He just wasn't allowed to leave her when he fell in love. She'd always need him.
"I love you, Sammy. I'm not going to let anyone hurt you."
All Alex wanted was for the two of them to have normal interactions with people. Friendships, enemies, relationships, well the last one more for him, but she didn't know how they were supposed to do it. One lie could have him doubled over and people lied in relationships all the time. He could never be too careful. This girl could have been the sweetest thing, but if she didn't know any better, she could lie about something silly and hurt him. Alex wasn't quite ready to take the risk of letting anyone hurt him.
"I know you like her, Sam, but our circumstances are different than everyone else's. If she makes the tiniest wrong move, it could do a lot of damage," And she wasn't going to lose her brother because some twit couldn't be honest about everything.
Her lips pressed together in a tight line and she propped herself up on her elbow. She wanted what was best for him, she always had, but this was one of those things that she didn't know what the right choice was. "I want to meet her before you go further with anything."
Once he calmed down, she waited for him to go on about the important topic of conversation. It was strange that he'd texted her about a girl, he hardly ever did that. Then, it wasn't very often he got to interact with them so she supposed she could understand. Either way, it was intriguing to watch him talk about her. He seemed really into her and that sort of worried Alex. He already had a fragile enough heart, the last thing he needed was for it to get stomped on by some girl he just met.
Alex reached out and brushed her fingers through his hair. She knew it was probably the wrong time for her to come and expect him to talk, but, it was the only time that she allowed herself. If she didn't stay busy, she knew that she would go crazy and now that she wasn't asleep, it hadn't occurred to her that not everyone had the problems with it that she did. "She sounds nice, Sammy. And if she kept your jacket, it probably means she likes you, too."
She took a deep breath and frowned, her eyebrows pulling together, "But are you sure you're ready for that? I mean, we're just now starting to get out more and your heart...I just don't want anything to happen to you because of...because someone doesn't understand." She didn't know this girl, she hadn't met her so she couldn't really judge. But this was her twin, her family, the only family she had. If this girl did anything to hurt him, well, Alex would have a problem with that.
Alex blocked her face from the pillow and snatched it from him before hitting him with it, "Would you calm down! Jeez you act like I haven't been doing this for the last twenty-three years." As she watched him settle down, her eyebrow arched and she gave him a few more minutes to breathe and lower his heart rate.
She reached out and poked his face again, "You good? Or are you planning on waking up your roommates and getting me kicked out?" Although, she'd like to see them try, she knew all of them well enough to cause some damage if she needed to via their devices. She kept that bit to herself because she had a feeling Sam would get a little miffed. He did have to live with them after all.
"You have to tell me about the girl, dingus. That's why I'm here and I couldn't sleep."
It was sort of common for Alex to find her way to her brother's dorm in the middle of the night. Perhaps it wasn't smart or 'safe' in the eyes of academy officials, but he was her twin and they'd shared a room together for twelve years before coming to the academy. It was no secret that she didn't sleep, she'd found that out when a trainer she didn't know pointed it out to her after less than an hour after meeting her.
She slipped into her brother's room and climbed into his bed, turning to face him, "Sammy, are you okay?" She poked his face a few times, leaning forward so that their noses were touching. "Assbutt, wake upppp," She tried to keep it quiet enough that his roommates wouldn't hear, but she needed to wake her brother up now. Alex hadn't been able to talk to him earlier and now that she was awake, she felt that she needed to. He'd sounded rather frantic in his message.
When she noticed his eyes fluttering, she poked his face again, "Sammy, it's your sister. Wake up, nerd."
Alex had no idea what a Gretzky was, but she knew jerseys were for sports and she could recall the one that Emmett was referring to. Why would anyone want to take that? It would make sense for it to be a guy, she didn't see a girl doing this kind of criminal act. Girls were petty and catty, this was neither of those things. It was mostly just stupid and ignorant, something she found to be about most men. But where did they start with a Gretzky jersey?
"I mean, we're at a bar, you'd think that would be a good place to start," She shrugged. But outside of that, she was relatively clueless on the type of people that would steal a jersey and vandalize a garage. She was clueless on how people worked in general sometimes. "What other bars could we check out? Maybe they're there? They're there. Heh," She covered her mouth and snorted.
When he knelt down to her level, she looked at him levelly and waited for an explanation. The one she got was, while honest, a little ridiculous. Alex didn't pay attention to her own looks, she knew she wasn't ugly and that's all she cared about. She was more interested in the way others looked and she supposed she was curious about how they looked at her. Being told upfront that she was beautiful was one way to have her curiosity taken care of.
Before she could open her mouth to protest to what he said, he continued on and she tilted her head slightly. What kind of person did he think she was? Her teeth sank into her lip slowly and she considered his words. He'd been honest and she couldn't help but appreciate that. Maybe it was from spending so much time with her twin, but she would rather have honesty than some stupid lie that she could see through.
Alex sighed, "Okay fine. But just don't...don't push too hard, okay? Be gentle." She had to smirk at her choice of words, she realized that she was starting to get the hang of letting her personality out in smaller doses.
