She had always envied her brother's ability to walk through life with such ease. It seemed as if he had few worries and somehow, always came out on top. She wondered how those traits had completely missed her, while it seemed to almost consume him. "Enjoy it while it lasts." She said. "Soon you'll be an adult and have to get a job to pay the bills." She didn't think either of them would ever be thrown out from home, though, she was reaching the point where it was becoming socially unacceptable to still live at home.
The thought of moving out had crossed her mind. While she didn't think her father would be too against it, she couldn't see her brother being too happy about it.
"Come on." She said, pushing herself up. "Put it in a to-go cup and let's get out of here." She jerked her thumb over her shoulder, gesturing towards the door.

While she couldn't outright deny it, she didn't have to agree, either. Instead, the brunette simply rolled her eyes. "You would say that." While she didn't think that was all there was to him, Damian seemed to have his head in the gutter most of the time. She had to wonder if it was an act, or if it had started out that way and eventually ended up being a reality for him. She didn't really mind, though; She cared about him regardless. She always would - even if always to her was a limited term. More so than what it was for most others.
She had a feeling Carter wouldn't have minded that, though, she didn't tell Damian that little bit of information. "Too bad, indeed." She mused, head shaking. Though, having sex with Carter - or anyone else for that matter wasn't exactly something the brunette felt comfortable talking about. Or rather, she didn't see the point in it. It was her business after all, no?
"I'm going to cut you off if you don't take it easy." She warned him, wagging a finger his way.

The chuckle flowed past her lips, the sound almost shy. "Thank you." She put her elbow against the table, chin resting against the back of her hand. "Carrying a conversation has always been hard for me, but I'm getting better at it." She saw no reason not to be honest about it. It wasn't something she'd ever felt ashamed about, but it had always been something she'd wanted to change about herself. Less out of the need of companionship and more out of curiosity: She'd never been one to seek out friends. They mostly seemed to stumble upon her by accident.
"Are you planning on staying?" She asked. "Settling down, I mean." She wondered what he really felt about Stagfort and its community. It had to be interesting for someone with his job. The mutant community was growing and while it had gathered a lot of support, there was still those that remained fearful.

She studied him for a moment; It was such a difficult question to answer, because could a person truly seem as one or the other? While she didn't really have an answer to give him, she supposed she could use the opportunity to poke fun at him.
"A cat." She said, turning her gaze to the other side, only so she could hide the small smile splayed on her lips. "A Sphynx cat." She added, clarifying. "With a cute little suit and a bow tie."
She could honestly picture it. Perhaps that was the most amusing part of it all.

The brunette's eyes fell to the coffee pot and she chuckled. "Of course." She wasn't really surprised. Though, it did sound like a nice way to relax after everything. Stepping into the room, the brunette took a seat and leaned back. "Yeah, it's pretty decent coffee." She agreed. Way better than their coffee machine could make back at home.
She turned her attention back to her brother and shrugged. "It was fairly calm today." It was nice to have calm days, though, she preferred the busier ones, simply because time moved much quicker. Though, she supposed calm days was something to enjoy too.
"What about you? What did you do today?"

The bluntness of his statement made her laugh; she couldn't really see that being an option for him. After all, he didn't strike her as someone who'd be content with not having the option to do as he pleased, if he so chose. "Of course you did."
And he'd even made the decision to get a house, not an apartment.
"What about pets? Do you have any? Want any?" It was curious to think about. Had she thought about the sane question four years ago, she wouldn't have seen it as a possibility, but he'd clearly changed more than she'd first realized.

In truth, she wouldn't have put it past him had he planned something like that. Still, the brunette couldn't help but feel somewhat relieved. Baby steps and all that. She looked at him as he spoke, green eyes studying his face. She wondered, only briefly, what it must have felt like to have the whole world so easily in front of you; Until the school had relocated, she'd never even left Montana.
"Really?" She asked, genuinely surprised. "Consider me honored, then." She added with an easy smile. She was tempted to ask, though decided it didn't really matter.
"Did you buy a place here or are you renting?"

It didn't even occur to the brunette how her request might have sounded. She was curious to see where and how he lived. She knew preciously little about him and while it was partly her own fault for never asking, he did seem more open about certain things now than what he'd done in the past.
She supposed it was only fair for her to take advantage of it. At least a little bit.
"Perfect." She replied cheerfully and leaned back in her seat. Her brows furrowed then, as if realizing something. "When you say home... You mean here in Stagfort, right?"

Turning her head towards the blonde, she both rolled her eyes and laughed at the same time. "He'll hold you to that." She warned. After attention, the word 'walk' was on the dog's top ten list of things that turn him from a usually well behaved adult dog, to a uncontrollably happy puppy.
Following suit, the brunette took a seat next to the blonde, pulling the belt over herself. Her head turned to look at him, brows furrowed. She was surprised; She'd expected him to have some semblance of a plan for the night. It struck her as odd that he potentially didn't.
Still, she considered his question. "Show me where you live?" He'd seen where she lived. It was only fair, after all.

It was odd, to be putt in the position she now found herself in. It wasn't often people sought out her opinion on things. Most seemed to expect her to be a certain way and rather than finding out what was hiding underneath, they accepted their own version of the truth. She'd always been fine with that, though, but she couldn't say she particularly minded this either.
"Well." She began, leaning back in her chair. She put the fork down against the plate and pursed her lips thoughtfully. "I've never been particularly good with people - or talking to them." She continued, head tilting. "But being a bartender sort of forces me into situations I normally wouldn't be in, and it has taught me a lot." She supposed that was a nice summary of it. After all, it was the sole reason she'd sought the job out in the first place.

"They're not evil." She said, mock offended. Though, that seemed to be the way most people looked at them. She could hardly blame people for thinking that way, even though she didn't understand why. She supposed she could only look it in a positive light: More furbies for her.
Accepting the money, Luxanna offered the redhead a smile. "Be safe." It was nice to see that some people coming here had enough common sense to know when it was time to call it quits. Most people didn't. Most would drink themselves into a stupor and barely be able to get themselves home safely.
A chuckle escaped the brunette's lips and she lifted her hand, wiggling her fingers. "Bye, Clarke."

Fenrir didn't normally make such a fuss about her leaving, but then, he normally had other company within the house to keep him company. Her father was busy with work, as always, but she had no idea where her brother was. It didn't matter, though.
"No." She replied, head shaking. "It's fine." She offered the blonde a smile. She didn't necessarily find the idea of yet another awkward dinner with her dad to be the way she wanted to spend her evening. "Let's go." She offered as she started moving forward and down the stairs.

Lifting her gaze, she was about to smile at the familiar face in front of her. Instead, the brunette's brows rose, eyes narrowing. "It's a he and somehow, you don't strike me as his type." A soft whine came from the other side of the door, making her retort completely moot.
Turning her head enough to lift her keys, Luxanna locked the door behind her. She'd always found it a hard thing to leave him when he so clearly wanted to be a part of everything that went on. She supposed it was only natural to feel that way, but even she appreciated how innocent it was.
With a inhale of breath, she turned to face the blonde. Eyebrows furrowed and her lips pursing as another whine escaped the locked door; The guilt of leaving her beloved pet behind apparent against her features. "Let's go before I change my mind."

This was, and had in many ways, always been uncharted territory for the brunette. And yet, she didn't feel nervous. She supposed she should have, though, she didn't know what to expect, which meant she didn't know what to be nervous about.
And perhaps she should have felt bad for Jack - maybe she should have felt guilty, but she didn't.
As she heard the text, all she needed was a brief glance on her phone to make the first steps towards the door. Fenrir, her beloved pet dog followed her heels. There was a knock and Luxanna opened the door, sliding through the crack so that the dog wouldn't get through and turned, closing the door behind her.
