Once Natalie was on the couch, Lena pulled her pets off her to curl up against the trainer. She accepted the flute and took a sip from it.
"Okay so this episode is when we'll meet the Vulture. He's a dick who swoops in - they'll explain who he is but really the only thing you need to know is that Peralta and Santiago are like...OTP and this is the beginning of the epic love story between them." She chuckled. "I'm a sucker for romance." She shrugged and hogged the remote.
Her pets started climbing on to her lap again with Leo perched on Lena's shoulder.

Lena could easily say she knew Damian a hell of a lot more than he knew her, and he was entirely predictable in his unpredictability. She could see the moment he retracted from his "feelings" and the words that came out of his mouth had the Aussie rolling her eyes and crossing her arms over her chest. She didn't much like it when Damian got like this.
Even more so when he deflected by finding a distraction. She raised an eyebrow at him before shaking her head. "Nope. You're not gonna do any of these girls. I work with them and I do not need to have them either crying on me or stabbing me in the back for not warning them about you. Even though I will."
She licked her lips and smirked before pushing herself up to give him a kiss on the lips. "I love you, Damian. But you're definitely not going to be a dick at my workplace." She sidestepped him and threw a remark over her shoulder. "I wouldn't be opposed to it back home though. Just saying."

"White wine's fine, love." She waved a dismissive hand before gesturing for the other woman to hurry. "Literally any alcohol will do just fine tonight." She chuckled. She just wanted to get drunk tonight and then sleep.
She took off her coat and slung it over the arm of the couch, reaching back to scratch Natalie's stomach. "Come on, Nats! Let's get this party started." She grinned widely up at the taller woman.

The puppies happily yipped at the newcomer while the kitten curiously poked his head out from her bag. "Thank you love!" She greeted just as cheerfully before walking in with the dogs right at her heel.
The puppies curiously went over to the bigger dogs and started sniffing each other. Jude went to the couch, putting its front paws up to sniff at Maura. "Be gentle, pup." Lena warned before putting Leo and her overnight bag down. The kitten slinked out and wrapped himself around Lena's ankle.
"I would love a bubbly, actually if you don't mind. I'm ready to talk shit about my babies." She gestured to the TV with a big grin.
She went over to the couch to pick Jude up as Johnny trotted over. "Hey old lady." Lena waved to the tortoise and made herself comfortable. Leo took that time to climb up Lena's leg, scratching it as she went up.
"Nat, love. Bring the whole bottle. We're in for a long night." She chuckled.

After dinner, Lena had hurried back home to get things ready for the sleepover. Her pets attacked her immediately after the door was opened and after giving them proper love and attention that lasted for about half an hour, she hurried with her packing and got the dogs on their leashes and Leo in his very own bag.
She got dressed in a dark blue lace camisole with matching boy shorts before wrapping a thick cream peacoat over it. Her hair was perfectly messy in it's ponytail and before she left the house, she addressed her pets with a mockingly stern look.
"Don't screw this up for me dudes, Mama needs a night out with her friend. You better love them animals like they were blood. Got it?" She grinned at her puppies as they licked every inch of her face in return. Leo blinked and they were off in her car.
When she arrived at Natalie's place, Jude nipped at her heels as if to hurry her up, so she knocked on the door with a grin.

Lena's bright blue eyes widened and the smile on her face revealed pearly whites. "Yes! Don't even worry. I can walk you through it. I'm actually rewatching it so you won't miss much. And heck no, no alone time for moi."
As she figured out logistics, she pushed her lips to the right before deciding that it was better to go to Natalie's. Her house was tiny as is and Natalie had more animals to cart around so it made more sense.
"I'll bring my babies over. Is it okay if I sleep over as well? It's already late and I'm not putting you out am I? I'm sorry for the twenty questions I'm just a tad bit excited." She chuckled. She may be an adult but sleepovers always brought her joy.

Any other night, she would be dancing it up somewhere. Or watching a movie with a bunch of her friends. Or really, a number of things other than sit down. But she had gone on two weeks of rigorous training and she wasn't as spry as she used to be. She needed to relax before her body broke down.
"I highly doubt that. And that sounds good. Jude and Johnny are probably driving Leo insane so having a cuddle might be good for everyone." Lena chuckled, mentioning her own two puppies and kitten.
"One of these days, we're going to have to get them together. And you're gonna have to teach me how to communicate better with them." She reached out to squeeze Natalie's hand and gave her a smile.

Lena perked up and nodded. "No pressure, obviously. But they enjoyed having you around, no surprise there." She commented. "They're obviously the youngest and they don't always get to connect with the adults so having one take to them is a big deal."
She grinned when Natalie expressed her delight. At the question, Lena shook her head and shrugged. "Going home, icing my body and binge watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine." She chuckled. "Unless you have other plans for me?" She wriggled her eyebrows up and down.

"I'll hold you to it." Lena responded with a wink as they went to their seat. Natalie's remark made her laugh and shrugged. "We kinda all are." She turned to the servers and beamed at them. "The girls and I do our best to steer traffic down here, especially after shows and they do the same for us. They're actually pretty damn good at sussing out our specific clientele."
She turned back to Natalie with a cheeky grin before opening her container to start going through her salad. She gave a satisfactory moan at her first bite. "Finally food." She said with a chuckle.
"Oh! I completely forgot, Hannah and the girls are asking when you'll be coming back to join us. They miss you." She grinned.

As the servers did an impressive job on the arrangement, Lena nodded at Natalie's remark. "This was actually born from a Kickstarter campaign and they source fresh fruits and vegetables from local farms. And whenever possible, they get imported fruits so there's always something new on the menu every so often." Lena smiled.
"And whatever they don't manage to use in a day, they'll send off to soup kitchens and meals on wheels." She added as she moved down to the cashier, fishing out the money to pay for their order. She picked up the tray and guided them both to a seat.
"The girls and I think this place is a God send. They have proteins upon request so sometimes we splurge but most of the things they have on hand and their portions make for a good meal." Lena finished before laughing. "I sound like a sponsored ad."

Once Natalie stood up, easily towering over Lena, the redhead hooked her arm through the younger woman's and led her out of the club, waving to a few of the people she knew. They spent the walk to the new salad bar talking about the performances and only when they arrived at their destination did Lena let Natalie go.
"Lena! Hey! How'd your first show go?"
For a good minute, Lena regaled the people behind the counter of the show before she turned to Natalie, gesturing for her to look at the choices. Fresh fruits and nuts were showcased in transparent plastic tubs neatly arranged in the display case along with a colourful array of vegetables.
"I'll have my usual with extra cranberries please. And hook my girl up as well, yeah?"

Lena was not known for being perceptive but even she couldn't miss the blush on Natalie's cheek and she couldn't help the smile on her face. She was also quite glad that Natalie hadn't eaten either. At least she wouldn't feel obligated to watch Lena chow down.
The question brought a chuckle out from Lena and even though the answer was right at the tip of her tongue, she did know her audience and she didn't feel like Natalie deserved Lena's dirty talk, even though they have known each other long enough to warrant comfortability regarding those things.
Then again, the other woman did blush after being kissed on the cheek, so really, Lena should just be careful.
"There's this new salad bar that opened around the corner that has a huge selection. The girls and I have been going there for the past few weeks. And the servers there are really sweet. We have discounts so...let's have this drink and then we'll go yeah?" She grinned just as the server came around with their drinks. Lena gave her a couple of dollar bills as tip and waved her off with a huge smile.
"Thank you Willa!" She called out before tipping her drink back in one shot. "Oof! I gotta go change. Stay! There's a singer coming out in a bit. You'll enjoy her." Lena pecked her cheek one more time before scurrying off to change.
When she got back, her makeup was gone and she was ina dark green t-shirt that hung off one shoulder and jeans, with her hair tied up in a messy ponytail. She went back to the table she had left Natalie at and squeezed her shoulders from behind. "Shall we?"

She grinned at her response, curious as to why Natalie had the frown but not questioning it. At least not yet. "Well, I'm a regular dancer so I'll be rotated between Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays but I'll at least have one full day of the week. But you have to be here on The Green Fairy appearances. She only comes on once a month and she's absolutely fantastic." The Aussie gushed.
She wasn't even exaggerating either. Luca had such an eye for talent that she was glad she was passed over for the main event. Even though he wasn't a dancer himself, he knew what he liked and he had pretty good taste, and it paid in dividends for sure.
She squeezed Natalie's hands once more. "I still can't believe you're here. Not because I thought you wouldn't come but just..." She waved a dismissive hand before leaning forward to peck Natalie's cheek. "I'm just glad. Have you had dinner? I'm already off the clock and I couldn't eat before because we were so busy rehearsing."

This was exactly why she loved being around Natalie. Whatever she said could be taken at face value and still be meaningful. Lena surrounded herself with people who were truthful for that reason. She didn't want to have to decipher everything people said.
Lena reached out to grab her hand and squeezed it tight. "I'm so glad! Yeah, I didn't know whether it would be a thing you would like. But it was good yeah? The girls here are phenomenal. Like I've danced with professionals around the world but these girls are a league of their own." She nodded.
The waitress came over and with a cheerful greeting, she asked for their orders. Lena placed hers and waited for Natalie to do the same before she turned back to the brunette. "Now that you know what to expect, will you come around again?" Lena asked with a mischiveous glint in her eyes.

When she finally found Natalie, a bright smile appeared on her face and she rushed over to her friend, pulling her in for a hug after hearing the compliment. "Thank you so much for coming!" She responded, squeezing Natalie tightly before letting her go and pulling her to an empty table.
Signaling for a waiter to come over and take their orders, Lena turned to look at Natalie, her smile widening. "I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Truth be told I wasn't even sure you'd still be here." She laughed. "But it was good?"
It wasn't like Lena to be so unsure but Natalie was a friend and her opinion mattered greatly to the redhead.
