Alice Theresa Campbell FACE CLAIM: Nina Dobrev.
♦ THE BASICS ♦ AGE: Twenty-five. GENDER: Female. ORIENTATION: Pansexual. POSITION: Burlesque dancer, yoga instructor, philanthropist, active feminist
♦ THE ABILITY ♦ POWER: Telekinesis. Alice's ability makes her able to lift anything she could physically lift, just with her mind instead. The stronger she is mentally, the further she's able to push the boundary of weight, though, always to a certain limit.
Telekinesis is a mental ability that relies on mental strength and willpower. The two always go hand in hand.
When her ability comes in contact with someone's skin, they'll feel a tingling sensation across whatever body part she's mentally touching. Alice's ability is at its best when she's calm and collected, but at its strongest and most unstable when she's feeling emotional, as the power often acts from her subconsciousness.
Alice can use her ability to keep objects or beings from moving, lift objects or beings in the air, touch, push or push objects away or towards her, like for example, yanking a book off a shelf or sliding a cup across a table.
LIMITATIONS:
- Can only lift objects she can physically (and mentally) lift. She wouldn't be able to lift anything as heavy as a car, but lifting chairs and throwing them around is something she'd be able to do with ease.
- Psychic strength may be proportional to user's capacity, meaning an opponent with physical strength stronger than the user's mental strength may break free, or even be immune to the ability altogether.
- She can only use her ability on objects or people within viewing distance. The further away, the more she'd have to concentrate.
- The more she uses her power and the more she pushes the natural boundaries, the quicker her energy will be drained.
SIDE-EFFECTS:
- Headaches that can turn into migraines if pushed, that could potentially lead to nose bleeds, nausea and worst case scenario; brain bleeds.
- Restlessness along with drained energy. This can sometimes lead to insomnia or needing several hours of sleep. It's a double-edged sword, really.
♦ THE FREEFORM ♦
"I've been a liar, been a thief, been a lover, been a cheat." She sat with her legs crossed, eyes slanted slightly as her lips curved softly. "I was thirteen when I first manifested," she said, head tilting. "I was then dragged to god-know-where Montana." She offered a simple shrug at that before her eyes dropped to the photograph being handed at her. She smiled. "I used to date him," she said, pointing at a male student in the picture. "And him," she continued, pointing at another male. "And her."
"All my sins need holy water, feel it washing over me."
"No, really," she said, annoyed. "Being a feminist does not make me a lesbian - or a man-hater." She had to resist rolling her eyes. It amused her how some people decided how certain things worked and clung to it almost desperately.
"Well, little one, I don't want to admit to something, if all it's gonna cause is pain." "You know," she drawled, "Being a telekinetic isn't only useful for fetching the remote." This time she didn't try to stop the chuckle. What was the point, anyway?
"Truth and my lies right now are falling like the rain, so let the river run."
"Well." She dragged the word out, as if in deep thought. "I'm not a stripper," she added quickly, flipping her hand to the side. "People doesn't seem to realize that burlesque and stripping aren't the same thing." She didn't mind, of course. Whatever paid her bills. "But yes," she grinned shamelessly, "I do house calls." "Darkness comes beneath the dying stars, with all the blood and scars." "Mmm." She shrugged effortlessly. "It's not that I don't want a relationship, I just don't need it." She furrowed her brows, unsure. "I don't see the point in tying yourself down to just one person, I mean, not everyone wants that house with a white picket fence, you know?" "My mouth will hunt you, with fear, I appear." "I graduated at eighteen like the rest of my peers, and then I wasn't ready for college." In truth, it wasn't as if the idea hadn't crossed her mind, but it wasn't in her cards at the time. "So I decided to do something else. Something just for me." "Nothing will stop me, you crave the creature in me." "Yes," she nodded, agreeing. "I do love my life and yes, I do love the way it turned out." She leaned forward - more for comfort than anything else. Her butt was starting to grow numb. "I'm lucky enough to say that I get to do something I love. How many people do you know who gets to say that?" "Shattered, I will capture you, so run." Pushing her short hair away from her face, she puckered her lips slightly. "What do you mean?" she asked, trying to stop the chuckle from pressing past her lips, but failed. "I wouldn't use the term whore. It's demeaning."
